Huge Object Crosses The Moon

Postby bluefete » June 6th, 2020, 9:27 pm

Disclaimer: I don't smoke or drink.

Did anyone see a huge black object cross the top of the moon, from south to north, about 9:10 p.m. this evening.

It was the weirdest thing.

It was not the ISS nor any of Musk's satellites. Those have lights. The ISS is in low earth orbit so it is easy to see when it crosses over T&T.

It was not an ordinary satellite because those pass reflecting the sunlight.

This was totally strange. I discounted clouds because of the way it moved. I have never seen anything like that in my life.

And of course no pictures because by the time I got the camera up, it had already crossed and disappeared into the hazy northern sky.

Interesting times we live in.

Cue tuners to chime in on OP's vision and mindset.

What did it look like? What shape?

There's a comet that's supposed to be visible soon

You alone see it?
A bat? Owl? Hawk?
Santa Claus?

Anyway, if it was anything credible it will definitely appear on

AND
https://www.space.com

So keep us updated OP.

u cant see the lights from the iss from here. what u would be seeing is the reflection off of the surfaces. and passing infront of the moon, or rather, in between the moon and ur line of sight, it might look black contrasted by the back glow of the moon.

i remember seeing this vid, and ur story stirred this back to mind.

how fast was it moving? did it cross in a split second or took a while? did it reflect light?

the Moon is very far away...further than a lot of people think it is (see pic below).....it was most likely something in the atmosphere like a jet or even an animal...did anyone else with you see it? could be a 'floater' in your eye (my mom has that problem)

there is no possible way for you to see something cross the moon unless it was extremely huge (size of Iceland or a US state).....and if something that size were to cross the moon....well, ur not the only person who would have noticed....the moon is constantly being monitored by universities and other institutions......even amateur sky-gazers.

It was probably Asteroid 2002 NN4. It was visible yesterday.

Good point but it did not pass in front of the moon. It was above the top of the moon. No lights. Huge and black. Definitely not a cloud.

That comet is millions of miles away. This was very close. No comet. It left no trail either.

It was off and it takes about 30 - 45 seconds to open up. By that time the thing had crossed the top of the moon.

It moved relatively slowly. It did not seem to be travelling at great speed, however, the speed from your backyard compared to the actual speed may vary significantly (like ground speed v true airspeed)did it reflect light? No light was reflected. It was totally black. The reason I went to get the camera was because of its motion, in a straight line, from south to north. That really stood out for me.

I do get occasional flashes of light in the corner of my eyes. But, again, I know what i saw.

I did see the ISS cross T&T once some years ago. It was huge and you could clearly see the lights from it. Other have also seen the ISS cross (but most times it is barely above the horizon. Disclaimer: I get NASA notifications as to when the ISS is likely to cross T&T. It is due to pass close to T&T at 8:25 p.m. this evening (Sunday).

You can't see the exterior lights on the ISS. What you see is the ISS reflecting sunlight. If you spot it transiting the evening sky it looks about the size of Venus in the West on an evening. The ISS take about 90mins to orbit the earth so it moves pretty quickly across the sky.

Correct. So when the ISS passes over T&T, it is quite visible due to the reflected light. The thing I saw cross above the moon was black with no reflective lights at all. It also moved in a straight line.

^^ LOL.

Okay folks. I was doing some research and came across this video:.

Taken on 26/3/2020, from Quebec, Canada

If you go to 0:43, the length of the huge shadow it casts on the moon is what I saw above the moon.

Then I also came across this:

Those really have to be huge objects for me to see them, with the naked eye from earth.

Image

Sorry dudes, it’s the Kaguya Cadillac science mission

Catching that mission on camera by accident is just as cool as aliens.

“I was looking at the moon and I accidentally captured footage of a once in a lifetime lunar mission that’s mapping the surface of the moon a quarter of a million miles away…” Now THAT’S COOL!

lol "research!"

Captain Disillusion already covered it. It's VFX.
And again why is there only 1 single video of this event, when literally millions of people on Earth are watching and recording the moon constantly? Like right now on the dark side of Earth, there are about a million people doing just that.

Just like how billions of people have smart phone cameras and dashcams, but somehow only 1 video exists of an atmospheric anomaly that should light up the entire world's news agencies, but is only uploaded to an obscure YouTube account and gone viral by idiot-lingering websites?
(oh it must be a coincidence that that thread was created by... bluefete!!!) :?

But yeah 1 single fake video on the internet is research. Bluefete strikes again, living up to his own stereotype. You're probably missed in the Religion Thread.
