Cinemas, restaurants, bars to open for vaccinated patrons only
RYAN HAMILTON-DAVIS 17 MINUTES AGO

From October 11, cinemas, restaurants, casinos, fitness centres and bars will be open – but to vaccinated members of the public.

The Prime Minister made the announcement at a press conference at the Diplomatic Centre on Thursday.

“Last fortnight we said we will move toward operating our food-service business places and entertainment places as safe zones. We will provide approval for restaurants, cinemas, bars, theatres, to be utilised by the population – but by the vaccinated population,” Dr Rowley said.

Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young explained that the approvals would be for fully vaccinated people over the age of 12.

He added, “In these safe zones, the owners of the safe zones are required to ensure that the employees operating in these safe zones are fully vaccinated. They will also be required to have proof of vaccination.”

Young explained that people going into the safe zones would be required to have proof of their vaccination – which in the first instance would be their existing vaccination cards.

A new paper or digital system is being worked on.

The protocols will be enforced by the police and public health officers.

Rowley also warned against falsifying vaccination cards, saying the penalties for falsifying them were “huge.” Young said these penalties will be increased.

New York allows a PCR or antigen test as well

https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/excelsior-pass-frequently-asked-questions
What is Excelsior Pass?

Excelsior Pass is a free, voluntary platform that provides secure, digital proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results.

Excelsior Pass can be accessed and stored through the NYS Excelsior Pass Wallet app, or through the Excelsior Pass Web Portal and printed. The NYS Excelsior Pass Wallet app can be downloaded at no cost from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Excelsior Pass is currently available in more than 10 languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese (traditional and simplified), Russian, Haitian-Creole, Korean, Bengali, Arabic, Italian, Polish, and Yiddish.

Are there different Excelsior Pass types?

There are currently three Excelsior Pass types:

Excelsior Vaccination Pass (available 15 days after the final dose of the vaccine was administered: valid for 365 days)
Excelsior PCR Pass (valid until midnight on the third day after a test)
Excelsior Antigen Pass (valid for 6 hours from the time of a test
)

UK allows natural immunity

https://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/explainers/vaccine-passports

Most covid passports introduced so far have been mobile phone apps that show a QR code or other evidence confirming vaccination status. Some have incorporated testing to minimise discrimination against those who have not been, or cannot be, vaccinated. In most cases it has also been possible to access a paper alternative to prevent digital exclusion for those without smartphones.

In the UK, a vaccine certificate for travel, the NHS COVID Pass, was introduced on 17 May 2021. Since 19 July it has also been possible to use it in certain domestic settings, with ‘high risk’ venues including nightclubs and large events encouraged to use the pass.

The pass is available through the existing general NHS app (which is different to the NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app). Individuals registered with a GP surgery in England can sign up to the app and click through to a QR code confirming their vaccination status, which is available two weeks after a second vaccine dose. A paper alternative is also available. The pass currently includes naturally acquired immunity, shown by a positive PCR test in the last six months and, when used in domestic settings, recent negative test results as well. Evidence of vaccination status is only available to those vaccinated in the UK, EU, or USA.

What are other countries doing?

The countries that first implemented covid passports, Israel and Denmark, both started to phase their schemes out earlier in the summer as case rates dropped, but Israel has now revived its ‘Green Pass’ after a significant increase in cases.

Israel first introduced the ‘Green Pass’, enabling vaccinated citizens to use leisure facilities like gyms and hotels, in February 2021.[14] It was also available to some people who had natural immunity from infection, but test results were not included.[15] The app became available one week after a second vaccine dose and was initially valid until December 2021. It is now valid for six months after a final vaccine dose or recovery from Covid.[16]

Its impact is not entirely clear – there were some reports of small protests, some confusion about how the pass worked, and uneven enforcement by businesses. At the same time, case rates fell, and the Israeli economy largely reopened. It is unclear how much, if any, of that progress was due to the Green Pass.[17] The scheme ended in June 2021, along with other restrictions, as Israel achieved high vaccination rates and low case rates but was reintroduced in July as cases began to rise again.[18]

Denmark introduced the ‘coronapas’ in April 2021. It allowed entry to venues like hairdressers and bars for vaccinated residents or those with a recent negative test result. It was incorporated into a pre-existing health app and could be printed out. Denmark phased out the coronapas in September 2021, with 80% of its citizens fully vaccinated.[19]

The wider EU ‘Digital COVID Certificate’ is a QR code based app that allows travellers to prove that they have been vaccinated, recovered from Covid-19 in the last six months, or have a recent negative test result.[20]

It was initially designed for travel, but many EU member states are using it, or other covid passports, to control entry to venues or events. [21] Ireland, for example, has used the EU certificate as a ‘vaccine pass’ allowing access to indoor hospitality, although it is currently planning to phase this out from the 22 October.[22]

France has introduced the most extensive scheme, requiring some venues with more than 50 people to use its ‘pass sanitaire’ since 21 July. In August this was extended to cafes, restaurants, healthcare settings and long-distance journeys by trains and planes. The announcement of these plans was followed by protests but also an uptick in vaccination rates.

With all the vaccine, all the jersey mask teary say to make, all the soe an kerfew an we still clocking almost 300 new infevtions a day an yet nobody resign for failure to manage the covid. We spend almost 2 years away from bars , cimemas an others an is like arseholes cant wait to jump on the mix an spend they money just to make they insiginifant self feel big. They want the crefew gone so they can have freedom to go out in the night to go lime in the cinemas an bars.
Me? If i can spend 2 years without it then it shows i dont need it in the first place. Let them go spend they money an make the 1% richer an keep the economy going i will stay home save my money to pay property tax an enjoy my property.
