Merry Christmas to the short boss.

Very unfortunate the top dog has to make these hard decisions for the economy all because of the previous Govt.

Blessed season all!

A $5 million fence will be built around Golden Grove Prison, according to the budget documents, while $3 million will be added to $2.58 million spent last year for a perimeter fence and infrastructure works at the Maximum Security Prison (MSP).

AHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Don't know if true but still ..............................................

Unwind TT

CUSSOUT, CHAOS, COLM KICKED OUT AS WAR DECLARED OVER CHAIRMAN CONTEST

...Nominations Culminate With Cummings Camp vs Keith Camp In Hara Kiri PNM Executive Elections

CHAOS and ruction erupted in the higher echelons of the People's National Movement (PNM) during Monday's closing stages of nominations for executive positions in the party.

Incumbent chairman Colm "Pompek" Imbert was figuratively pissed upon by outgoing political leader Dr Keith "Rottweiler" Rowley, who has opted to stick his tongue out in support of Stuart "Lapdog" Young for party chairman.

UNWIND TT understands that Imbert was last week instructed by Prime Minister Rowley to forego re-contesting the post.
Disregarding the instruction, the "Pompek", accompanied by a loyal Diego Martin North-East contingent, journeyed past the Caroni River to the PNM Central Headquarters to file nomination for chairman.

However, shortly after submitting his documents, the "Pompek", who was once scornfully referred to as a "sewer rat" by former Prime Minister Basdeo Panday, reportedly received a threatening bark from his Cosa Nostra "Rottweiler" boss to withdraw.

Reluctantly, the dejected "Pompek" put his tail between his legs, pulled back his papers and headed back to his constituency base.

His loyalists have reportedly vowed to vote against the raging bull Rott.

But that's not all.

PNM circles are also abuzz with talk about a political cussout between Rowley and uncontested general secretary Foster Cummings, over the candidacy of Cummings' lawyer Farai Hove Masaisai to run against Port of Spain North/St Ann's East MP Young for chairman.

UNWIND TT understands that a barrage of explicit-rich threats are being traded by principals of both camps in a thus far futile attempt to force one or the other to pull out.

Ken Butcher has also filed a nomination for chairman.

So while La Horquetta/Talparo MP Cummings might be wagging his tail already assured of returning as general secretary, the growling Rott is facing a precarious four-way fight for the apex party post - against former Finance Minister Karen Nunez-Tesheira, Ronald Boynes and Junior Barrack.

In the current toxic atmosphere, it appears that the Rott might find himself barking up the wrong tree, with his fancied slate of candidates seeming destined to suffer the wrath of his mutineering lieutenants, who he may have rubbed the wrong way.

Yeah once Karen thru her hat in the ring, two others came out to dilute the anti-rowley vote even though Rowley was going to win anyway... but in case of the remote chance of an upset, the fix is in.

Jason,

Do we really need a poll to determine this?

Is reality really that hard to accept?

LES COUTEAUX JUMBIE STRIKES AGAIN! I hope his mother and wife are okay

Manning drops out PNM race
...cites ‘unexpected, urgent family matter’

Brian Manning, who was contesting the vice-chairmanship of the People’s National Movement (PNM), has dropped out of the internal election.

That leaves Minister of Education Nyan Gadsby-Dolly and Rondell Donawa as the two contenders for the vice-chairmanship.

In a letter to the Elections Supervisory Committee dated October 14, Manning said “with great sadness” he was withdrawing his candidacy because “an unexpected and urgent family matter demands more of my time and attention right now”.

It was only on Monday that he submitted his nomination. Manning said he was moved by the “outpouring of support received from every quarter of this great party” and he remained committed to all his supporters and party members.

“My heart has been truly buoyed by the flood of support and well wishes received since I announced my candidacy, but given the circumstances at this time, I am unable to commit myself to the demands of an election campaign,” he wrote.

He concluded by saying that he was asking party supporters for their understanding “as we continue to work together to support the election process.

I appreciate each of you and remain committed to the belief that we are capable of great things not just as a party but as a country”.

Sources meanwhile said that while political leader Dr Keith Rowley has not indicated that he has a team, there is a view within the party that there is indeed a Rowley team and that the candidate for vice-chairman on the Rowley team is Gadsby-Dolly.

Many believed Manning, whose campaign manager was former minister Joan Yuille-Williams, had viable prospects.
