That is even harder to do when you're dead.
You keep seeming to be amazed that getting vaccinated means that you still cannot be infected by Covid. Where was this stated to be the case? From day 1 the information on the vaccine was that it only reduces your chances of being hospitalized or dying, it was never touted as 100% effective against getting infected, yet you seem to be either not getting that point, or pretending to push your anti vax narrative.

Allyuh keep talking about dead and dead. 193,701,849 people around the world got covid and 175,919,238 recovered, 4,156,111 died. It's not a death sentence. Protect the vulnerable, but it's time to move on.

Then either they, or the authorities are guilty of not getting the information. This doesn't nullify that the truth is no vaccine is touted as 100% effective against Covid 19 infection.

Never said it was, but you'd think that in the list of information about a viruses' effect on you, # 1 would be death

I don't want anyone to die but the fact is that the virus is here and it M.O. is to infect people. Some persons infected would get seriously ill or die. They should have been sheltering in place from the beginning, not young healthy people, they should now be vaccinated, not young healthy people.

Why the US has not approved the AstraZeneca-Oxford Covid vaccine for use and is sending it abroad

By Martin Williams @MWilliamsHT
Senior News Reporter

THE US is sending abroad AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine it cannot use - because its regulatory system has not yet approved its use.

The US has already shared over 4 million doses of its AstraZeneca vaccine with Canada and Mexico.

At the end of April the US said it would provide 60 million doses of their AstraZeneca vaccine overseas, once it clears federal safety reviews.

Now President Joe Biden has confirmed that another 20 million doses of vaccines from Pfizer Inc., Moderna Inc. or Johnson & Johnson, will be shared on top of the AstraZeneca Plc he had already planned to give to other countries.

Mr Biden has been under global pressure to share his country's vaccines, but he had insisted that he had to first control the pandemic at home.

At the end of April, AstraZeneca said it had intended to seek US authorisation for the in the “coming weeks”. It had been expected by mid-April.

While delivering its first quarter financial results, at the end of April, it emerged the company delivered 68 million doses of the vaccine to the European Union, United Kingdom and other countries in the first three months of the year.

The company had said it was continuing to work on its application to US's Food and Drug Administration for emergency-use authorisation noting the “substantial size of the file" that will include data from US trials as well all other studies completed so far and real-world data collected from use of the vaccine in other countries.

It now looks extremely unlikely that Americans will get the AstraZeneca shot, even though the US had ordered 300 million doses of the vaccine in a $1 billion deal.

The nation at the end of April was on track to have enough doses for every adult by the end of May with only the three already-authorized vaccines - Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.

Jen Psaki, White House press secretary, said the new doses would go “to help countries battling the pandemic”.

He added: “We are waiting for, of course, AstraZeneca, as you know, to go through the approval process of the FDA, but this will put 80 million doses out into the world by the end of June."

Among issues that AstraZeneca would have had to address are indications that the vaccine was linked to rare blood clots, particularly in younger people.

The India government on Monday said it identified 26 potential cases of bleeding and blood clotting due to the admnistration of the vaccine.

Several countries recommended that the vaccine only be given only to older people because of the link to the rare clots - known as CVSTs (cerebral venous sinus thrombosis).

Last month the UK's Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), which advises how vaccines should be used, recommended healthy people under 30 be offered a different vaccine.

Vaccine experts say the blood clots are very rare and less than the blood clot risks of women taking birth control.

They say that for the vast majority of people the benefits of the vaccine vastly outweighs the risks.

By the end of April, according to the UK medical regulator, the MHRA, 79 cases were identified, and 19 people died.

This was out of a total of more than 20 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine which has been given in the UK at that time.

Some believe AstraZeneca may skip asking the FDA for emergency-use authorisation and instead pursue the more time-intensive application for a full-fledged licence.

Meanwhile Mexico's president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said last month that the country expects about another five million AstraZeneca doses from the US.

Approximately 2.7 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine was sent to Mexico from the US between late March and April.

None of the additional 60 million doses that was due to be sent to other countries at the end of April had been available to ship immediately.

Ten million had been filled into vials, awaiting regulatory safety testing.

Another 50 million were expected to be produced between May and June.

When AstraZeneca released data from its US vaccine trial on March 22, company officials said they expected to apply for FDA authorization in the first half of April.

Once the application is filed, an FDA advisory committee will publicly debate the evidence behind the shots before the agency decides whether to allow emergency use.

Ruud Dobber, an AstraZeneca executive vice president, said at the time that if the FDA authorizes the vaccine, the company would deliver 30 million doses immediately, followed by another 20 million within the first month.

The vaccine was developed by researchers at Oxford University, who licensed the technology to AstraZeneca in an effort to tap into the company’s global manufacturing and distribution capacity. AstraZeneca in turn authorizes other companies to produce the shots around the world.

More than 3.3million people worldwide have died of COVID-19, including more than 580,000 in the US.

Mr Biden said in his vaccine announcement: "We're taking an additional step, to help the world. We know America will never be fully safe until the pandemic that's raging globally is under control. No oceans wide enough. No walls high enough to keep us safe.

"Rampant disease and death in other countries can destabilize them, those countries and pose a risk to us as well. New variants could rise overseas that could put us at greater risk. And we need to help fight the disease around the world to keep us safe here at home and to do the right thing of helping other people. It's the right thing to do. It's the smart thing to do.

"It's the strong thing to do. In March, we shared over 4 million doses of our AstraZeneca vaccine with Canada and Mexico. At the end of April, we announced that we would provide another 60 million doses of our AstraZeneca vaccine overseas.

"Remember, this is the vaccine that's not authorized for use in the United States yet. So we're going to be sending it to folks once the FDA's reviewed this and said it's safe. This is all the AstraZeneca vaccine produced in the United States, all of it, will be sent to other countries."

The latest data showed that 60% of American adults had received at least one coronavirus vaccine dose Biden has set a goal of getting 70% of American adults at least partially vaccinated by July 4.

Many US allies had called on the Biden administration to send more vaccine doses to other countries, noting that the pandemic will not truly come to an end until vaccines are widely available around the world.

Mr Biden said last week that almost half of the world’s leaders had contacted his administration asking for help in getting access to more vaccine doses.

"We want to lead the world with our values, with this demonstration of our innovation and genuinity and the fundamental decency of the American people. Just as in World War II, America was the arsenal of democracy. In the battle against COVID-19 pandemic, our nation is going to be the arsenal of vaccines for the rest of the world," he said.

"We'll share these vaccines in the service of ending the pandemic everywhere. And we will not use our vaccines to secure favours from other countries. We'll work with Kovack, the International organization set up, and other partners to ensure that the vaccines are living in a way that is equitable and that follows the science and the public health data.

"Today's announcement, to share 80 million doses, is our next step as we ramp up the efforts to respond to COVID-19 around the world."

Dutch COVID-19 infections soar by 500% in a week
By MIKE CORDER

July 13, 2021

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Coronavirus infections in the Netherlands skyrocketed by more than 500% over the last week, the country’s public health institute reported Tuesday. The surge follows the scrapping of almost all remaining lockdown restrictions and the reopening of night clubs in late June.

The weekly update showing that nearly 52,000 people in the Netherlands tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week came a day after caretaker Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte apologized for the June 26 lockdown relaxation and called it “an error of judgment.”

Rutte backtracked Friday and reintroduced some restrictions in an attempt to rein in the soaring infection rate. Bars again have to close at midnight, while discotheques and clubs were shuttered again until at least Aug. 13.

The Netherlands, along with other European nations, is facing a rise in infections fueled by the more contagious delta variant just as governments hoped to greatly ease or eliminate remaining pandemic restrictions during the summer holiday season.

With infections rising around France, President Emmanuel Macron on Monday cranked up pressure on people to get vaccinated and said special COVID passes would be required to go into restaurants and shopping malls starting next month.

The Dutch public health institute said that of the infections that could be traced to their source, 37% happened in a hospitality venue such as a bar or club. Infections among people ages 18-24 surged by 262%, followed by a 191% rise in 25-29 year-olds.

Despite the alarming rise in confirmed cases, hospital admissions increased by a modest 11%, or 60 COVID-19 patients, over the week, the institute said. Twelve of the admissions were to intensive care units.

More than 46% of the Netherlands’ adult population is fully vaccinated, and more than 77% of the country’s adults have had at least one shot. Health authorities said more than 1.3 million people would receive their first or second doses this week.

Health Minister Hugo de Jonge said Monday that the late June loosening of restrictions combined with a lack of social distancing and the delta variant “has had, of course, an accelerating effect. You can unfortunately see that with hindsight.”

Other countries in Europe are scrambling to accelerate coronavirus vaccinations in the hope of outpacing the spread of the more infectious delta variant.

Your statement implies that you believe that once you get covid you will die. As you said, and i quote "That is even harder to do when you're dead." You did not say that that is even harder to do if you die from covid but it is even harder to do when you're dead. Implying that death is the end result for all covid cases.

It could be genuine fear of the unknown, so hesitancy can probably be addressed by 1 on 1 conversations with actual medical practitioners instead of other hesitant people. The groupthink/circlejerk thing will not help without reliable and valid opinions.

I was a bit hesitant, because as I mentioned before my dad had an adverse reaction to the swine flu vaccine that left him paralyzed. I weighed the cost of getting vaccinated vs not. I now have my own family to provide for and the risk of getting C19 was higher than the risk of an adverse reaction.

Neither option was risk free FOR ME. Although I eat clean and exercise regularly (5-7 hours per week), I am still on the heavy side and have genetic predisposition to heart disease, hypertension, diabetes etc. So I assessed the information before me and made the decision to get the vaccine.

Although I am vaccinated, I am still taking all the same precautions that I did before getting the vaccine.

You should sit with your doctor, discuss all your concerns and weigh the risks specific to you.

It's really between a rock and a hard place. Stay safe, folks.

Good post!

The numbers don't lie and it's all about risk analysis.

Go ahead and jump. Many survive.

You comparing jumping off a cliff to doing everyday things like going to the grocery.
It's sarcastic use of the logical false equivalence. Some people die from vaccines and some people survive falling out of an airplane.

Alabama Republican Gov. Ivey says 'start blaming the unvaccinated folks' for rise in Covid cases

Washington(CNN) Alabama Republican Gov. Kay Ivey on Thursday called out "the unvaccinated folks" for the rise in Covid-19 cases in her state, a remarkable plea at a time when many GOP leaders are refusing to urge people to get vaccinated even as Covid-19 cases surge in many parts of the country.

"Folks are supposed to have common sense. But it's time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks, not the regular folks. It's the unvaccinated folks that are letting us down," Ivey told reporters in Birmingham.

Alabama is the least vaccinated state in the country, with roughly 33.9% of residents fully vaccinated, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Average daily Covid-19 cases in Alabama are nearly double what they were a week ago, and more than four times higher than they were two weeks ago.

Asked by reporters Thursday about plans to issue a mask mandate or other restrictions now that Covid cases are starting to rise again in her state, Ivey replied, "The new cases of Covid are because of unvaccinated folks. Almost 100% of the new hospitalizations are with unvaccinated folks. And the deaths are certainly occurring with unvaccinated folks."

Blame unvaccinated and then what? CNN now trying to paint a Republican governor as a bastion of science logic and rational thinking?

It’s newsworthy because the states with the highest numbers of unvaccinated people are also majority Republican states.

The unvaccinated are NOT your enemy. Whyy are we allowing this narrative to be fueled against humans? Be careful we don’t live to regret it….. it’s a dangerous precedent to set

Sinopharm's COVID-19 shot offers weaker protection among elderly - study

(Reuters) - Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine was less effective in offering protection against the disease among the elderly, according to the results of a Hungarian study.

The study of 450 participants who had received two doses of the vaccine showed measurable antibody levels were present in about 90% of people under the age of 50, but the protection reduced as age increased.

The estimated probability of no antibody response was about 25% in people aged 60 and about 50% at the age of 80 years, according to the study, which was published on medRxiv bit.ly/3BvNgIl earlier this week and has not been peer-reviewed.

I was referring to the ability to procreate

Your statement implies that you believe that once you get covid you will die. As you said, and i quote "That is even harder to do when you're dead." You did not say that that is even harder to do if you die from covid but it is even harder to do when you're dead. Implying that death is the end result for all covid cases.

No OJT2020, "you're going to die", or you'll definitely die" is what a rational person would take that to mean. My statement, far from being definite, alludes to the possibility of dying from and not being able to procreate.
Don't vaccinate, get sick/die/infect others is your choice. MY choice is to make sure that your medieval, anti science sheit opinions that fly in the face of all the available information, doesn't mean that for anyone else who's thinking about getting vaccinated

X2

logic and common sense are beyond these men.

So a statement that reads "That is even harder to do when you're dead." according to you alludes to the possibility of dying. LOL. The two of you need to freshen up on your grammar. I recommend first getting a grasp on how/when to use modal verbs.
