I will say first jab deaths would have been off the charts, but hidden as covee deaths

7 m deaths out of 7b people. That's less than 0.1%
1% of infections.

Not enough reason to lock down or force the jab. especially when it not preventing infection or preventing spread.

There are 60 million global deaths each year from all causes
- that's less than 0.1%.

Through this year, COVID-19 was the cause of death for 1 out of 6 deaths globally.

Greater than 85% of those deaths were not fully vaccinated.

mRNA platform trial used for cancer treatment proves successful. Was this posted here before?

Image

Merck and Moderna have delivered clinical evidence that the approach works. Investigators enrolled 157 people with stage 3 or 4 melanoma in the open-label phase 2b trial to receive either mRNA-4157 and Keytruda or the checkpoint inhibitor alone after complete surgical resection.

Adding mRNA-4157 reduced the risk of recurrence or death by 44% compared to Keytruda alone. The finding, which the partners hailed as the first demonstration of efficacy for a mRNA cancer treatment in a randomized clinical trial, lay the groundwork for a move into phase 3 and expansion into other cancers.

breaking news on a Friday afternoon, from CNN

CDC identifies possible safety issue with Pfizer’s updated Covid-19 vaccine but says no changes to vaccination practices recommended

By Brenda Goodman, CNN
Published 4:28 PM EST, Fri January 13, 2023

CNN —

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday said there is a possible safety issue with the bivalent Covid-19 vaccine made by Pfizer and BioNTech, but it’s unlikely it represents a true risk. The agency said it continues to recommend people stay up-to-date with Covid-19 vaccines.

The CDC said one of its vaccine safety monitoring systems – a “near real-time surveillance system” called the Vaccine Safety Datalink – detected a possible increase in a certain kind of stroke in people 65 and older who recently got one of Pfizer’s updated booster shots.

A rapid response analysis of that signal revealed that seniors who got an bivalent booster might be more likely to have these kinds of strokes within the first three weeks after their shots, compared with weeks four through six.

The same safety signal has not been detected with the bivalent Moderna booster, the CDC said.

...

“Although the totality of the data currently suggests that it is very unlikely that the signal in VSD represents a true clinical risk, we believe it is important to share this information with the public, as we have in the past, when one of our safety monitoring systems detects a signal,” the notice says.

“CDC and FDA will continue to evaluate additional data from these and other vaccine safety systems. These data and additional analyses will be discussed at the upcoming January 26 meeting of the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee.”

To anti-vaxxers and anti-mask individuals, I understand your concerns about safety and health when it comes to wearing a mask or receiving a vaccine for COVID-19. I want to address these concerns and provide information to illustrate why masks and vaccines are not only safe but also beneficial in protecting you and others from the virus.

First of all, let’s address why masks are important in decreasing the spread of COVID-19. It is understood that some people may feel physical discomfort while wearing a mask, however the benefits far outweigh any kind of physical slight. Masks prevent those who could be carrying the virus without knowing they have it - or those operating as carriers even after having experienced symptoms - from spreading it to others through aerosols (tiny particles which can stay suspended in air). Masks help serve as a ‘barrier’ between people, limiting contact with saliva droplets which contain the virus that cause COVID-19 illness. Additionally, by lowering the possibility of spreading COVID-19 through saliva, masks allow us to receive more protection from secondary infection which can include more severe complications from already existing illnesses. Lastly, we must recognize that wearing a mask sends a message; it speaks volumes to others around us that we each care deeply about our personal well being, as well as that of other individuals within our communities.

Now let’s turn our attention towards vaccines. Vaccines protect individuals by introducing dead forms of certain viruses into their bloodstream at low doses so their bodies can build up an immunity or resistance towards the disease caused by said virus. It is important to note that during development, medical trial testing is conducted on all potential entrants before they become licensed so most potential risk factors related to side effects may be gathered and addressed prior to distribution. Therefore when considering vaccines for prevention against Covid-19 illnesses there is less concern because research has been done over many years on different combinations and types of vaccine approaches in order for individuals to remain safe during these times.

SARS-CoV-2 vaccination deaths are extremely rare and lower than the overall crude mortality rate

Evaluation of mortality attributable to SARS-CoV-2 vaccine administration using national level data from Qatar

Published: 03 January 2023

Abstract
Accurate determination of mortality attributable to SARS-CoV-2 vaccination is critical in allaying concerns about their safety. We reviewed every death in Qatar that occurred within 30 days of any SARS-CoV-2 vaccine administration between January 1, 2021 and June 12, 2022. Probability of association with SARS-CoV-2 vaccination was determined by four independent trained reviewers using a modified WHO algorithm. Among 6,928,359 doses administered, 138 deaths occurred within 30 days of vaccination; eight had a high probability (1.15/1,000,000 doses), 15had intermediate probability (2.38/1,000,000 doses), and 112 had low probability or no association with vaccination. The death rate among those with high probability of relationship to SARS-CoV-2 vaccination was 0.34/100,000 unique vaccine recipients, while death rate among those with either high or intermediate probability of relationship to SARS-CoV-2 vaccination was 0.98/100,000 unique vaccine recipients. In conclusion, deaths attributable to SARS-CoV-2 vaccination are extremely rare and lower than the overall crude mortality rate in Qatar.

Introduction
Despite their demonstrated safety and efficacy, COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and refusal are not uncommon. Though there are scant published data, deaths related to COVID-19 vaccination appear to be extremely rare. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States received 14,980 reports of death among recipients of >589 million vaccine doses between December 14, 2020 and June 6, 2022. However, after a review of all available information, CDC identified only nine deaths to be causally associated with the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccination. A systematic review of published studies reporting autopsy data identified only 38 cases causally linked to COVID-19 vaccination, with 22 cases linked to ChAdOx1 nCoV-19, 10 cases to BNT162b2, 4 cases to mRNA-1273, and 2 cases to Ad26.COV2.S vaccines. Lack of clear and universally accepted criteria are a major limitation in assessing COVID-19 vaccine related deaths, with the onus of assigning causality falling upon the reviewing physician. This likely leads to significant variations in determining the association between vaccination and deaths. We developed a modified algorithm using criteria suggested by the World Health Organization to investigate the relationship between mRNA COVID-19 vaccination and deaths in Qatar at a national level.

Question are the vaccines being administered in Trinbago the ones specifically modified to deal with the Omicron variant?

I am vaxxed and boosted plus I got covid19 already very mild a sore throat in the morning and a lill chills the same night back to normal in less than 3 days ... I just wanna know if this makes any sense to those of us in similar situation.

The available vaccines in Trinidad are Sinopharm and Janssen.

US data indicates that the bivalent booster offers little added benefit when compared to earlier mRNA doses.

All boosting would do us stimulate more spike protein production.

It will help, but understand the newer variants will be mutating away from the original virus patterns.

What u will gey is the equivalent of cross immunity... Immunity fir sine thing else that has just enough similarity to have an immunological response to what u actually want to protect against.

U will get that same response, of not better, by just getting infected. Once u have antibodies, u will be as protected as u can be.

That is what you want to believe that I said. You're wrong - it only seems funny to you because you either choose, or simply lack the capacity, to understand the information that is actually being presented.

The booster recommendations are essentially similar to the booster recommendations from a year ago:

Vaccinated and boosted - better protection from an increase in antibodies.

Boosted with a different vaccine - better protection.

Boosted by mixing mRNA vaccine with other vaccines - much better protection still.

Boosted with a covalent mRNA vaccine - no noted appreciable difference when compared to a monovalent mRNA vaccine.

Someone should do an experiment- get an antibody test then get a booster with Sinopharm. Wait 2 weeks for it to work and then get another antibody test. We will see how much it really work.
