You know you have to give it to Biden.

Even though he is a senile bumbling fool, respect is given when respect is due.

He defeated Trump which is no mean feat.

He BTFO Putin in Ukraine which was not expected....after Putin outsmarted Obama and Trump every step of the way.

Then he surprisingly did well in the mid terms where so much was against him.

The referendums (if there are any) usually appear as a yes/no on the same ballot after the lists of candidates for various offices. But not all referendums occur at the same time as a candidate election in the US.

Now there are reports that Republicans want to raise the voting age after stats show younger voters showed up for Democrats during the midterms. The "freedom" crowd have ZERO shame.

The shame is the selective understanding of the contents of the US Constitution by some people in the US that attempt to quote the US Constitution.

One of the last US Constitutional Amendments enshrines the US voting age at 18.

Twenty-sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution
The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age.

AZ declared in Senate race for Democrat astronaut Mark Kelly with 51.8%.
D 49 - 49 R

https://abcnews.go.com/Elections/2022-us-senate-election-results-live-map

This just leaves NV where D has less than 1000 votes lead, and GA where there is a run-off election on Dec6th because initial results were too close. GA state has run-off election rules, unlike most other states.

In case of any tied votes in the Senate, the VP has the tie breaker.

"The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided"

Former Presidents raise the money for their libraries including operating costs. https://philanthropynewsdigest.org/news/obama-foundation-aims-to-raise-up-to-1-billion-for-library-endowment

And he didn't steal a long list of donations for the latest boogeyman cause to date (build the wall, stop the steal, etc.) for his personal use unlike a real orange clown.

The senate belongs to the Democrats regardless of the runoff

Nevada retained by the incumbent

The MAGA faction and the GOP need to take a good long look in the mirror.

And there's still a narrow path for the Democrats in the House too. Thaz insane. Almost historical cutarse.

Hearing talk about fingers put on the scales for the right in polls to help fan all that "red-wave" propaganda and a bunch of oligarchs spending $800 million to help it happen. Heads should be rolling, but will never happen.

NBC's Decision Desk as at 10.26am this morning has projected a 219-216 house in favour of the Rs.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2022-e ... se-results

Seems they just about did enough thanks to Fla and NY.
Those four flips in NY state (plus the three flips in Fla (and the gain of the newly added 28th seat) really helped them out

Funny how the right-leaners and proponents of the myth of the benevolent "job creators" NEVER suspect greed, unless it's a local Trini company owned by an ethnic group they don't like, or whatever partisan bigoted narrative they're trying to push?

Many of these companies made record profits during the pandemic gouging consumers and now they'd like those profits to continue fattening shareholders. That simple. Guess who pays? That's right, average workers. Maybe another reason worshiping the wealthy might not be the best strategy?

As the coronavirus pandemic devastated small businesses and plunged millions of Americans into poverty this summer and fall, executives at some of the country’s largest corporations sounded surprisingly upbeat. “I don’t think we’ve ever been more excited or energized about our prospects,” PayPal finance chief John Rainey said on a November conference call. “These are times when the strong can get stronger,” Nike chief John Donahoe told analysts in September. “With all that’s happening around the world, it’s really unfortunate,” said Jensen Huang, chief executive of graphics chip maker Nvidia, during an August earnings call. “But it’s made gaming the largest entertainment medium in the world.” Despite their success, at least 27 of the 50 largest firms held layoffs this year, collectively cutting more than 100,000 workers. The data reveals a split screen inside many big companies this year. On one side, corporate leaders are touting their success and casting themselves as leaders on the road to economic recovery. On the other, many of their firms have put Americans out of work and used their profits to increase the wealth of shareholders. When the coronavirus struck, big companies promised to help battle the crisis. Dozens of prominent chief executives, who last year signed a public pledge to focus less on shareholders and more on the well-being of their employees and broader communities, appeared eager to make good on that promise. Many suspended payments to investors and vowed not to hold layoffs. Then, 21 big firms that were profitable during the pandemic laid off workers anyway. Berkshire Hathaway raked in profits of $56 billion during the first six months of the pandemic while one of its subsidiary companies laid off more than 13,000 workers. Salesforce, Cisco Systems and PayPal cut staff even after their chief executives vowed not to do so. Companies sent thousands of employees packing while sending billions of dollars to shareholders. Walmart, whose CEO spent the past year championing the idea that businesses “should not just serve shareholders,” nonetheless distributed more than $10 billion to its investors during the pandemic while laying off 1,200 corporate office employees.

Stepping down "Shut Down" processes from the covid era where everything shifted heavily to online delivery and logistics. Now that we're back to normal, the covid web labour demand will drop sharply and then go back to steady growth over the coming years.

Kari Lake Holds Off on Conceding Arizona Governor Race

Kari Lake, the Republican who lost a tight race to be Arizona's governor, hasn't conceded the contest, more than 20 hours after the Associated Press and TV outlets said Democratic Secretary of State Katie Hobbs won. Ms. Lake, a former television anchor, tweeted Monday night: "Arizonans know BS when they see it."

lol. I must be psychic.

Looks like Arizonans do indeed know BS when they see it. No losers like MAGA losers.

Just need to watch till 1:08

USA loves getting played and owned by the Saudis.

The US has determined that Saudi Arabia's de facto leader - Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman - has immunity from a lawsuit filed by murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi's fiancé.

Mr Khashoggi, a prominent Saudi critic, was murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October 2018.

US intelligence has said it believes Prince Mohammed ordered the killing.

But in court filings, the US State department said he has immunity due to his new role as Saudi prime minister.

Damn, 80 years old. Time for new/younger leadership. On both sides too. Happy birthday, nonetheless.
