Wickedness under the PNM will never done.
What do you call taking something and not paying for it?

Well you know the country out of money when WASA is going after delinquent payers. Usually it's just write cheque, write cheque, write cheque, just like with CAL.

PNM is too wicked.

How do they expect ppl to pay one of the lowest water rates in the Americas, once a quarter? WASA is supposed to be giving ppl regular, well-treated water, even expensive desalinated water, with no meter, on a 24hr basis while living up a hill.

For them to be vex that for half the year and more I didn't pay what is essentially $100 a month is unreasonable. WASA should be focused on giving me 24hr supply and with sufficient pressure. Plus they need to change out all those decades-old pipes and with new ones and pave back the road smooth. When they start doing that then I will pay, but until then I will continue to use the utility for free.

The optics of starting in three UNC constituencies without providing data to support it is tone deaf, and opens the door for racial/political accusations though.

So the people in Chaguanas, San Juan / Barataria (UNC constituencies) owe WASA the most money?

What about Beetham where water is free? I'm sorry. They don't owe as much.

Why didn't WASA go after the biggest arrears first? The government agencies?

If they had gone after PNM areas as well, I could understand but the optics reeks of politics.

I pay one year of WASA at the start of every year. Electricity, cable, interwebz could be done without, but not water.

So law abiding citizens continue to pay for water they don't receive at the same time subsidizing those who don't pay for water. Nice.

Then basically it's ok for ppl to owe wasa for years and still receive water , then nobody should pay their wasa bill then

Typical LFD RFD PNM tactics, manufacture a crisis, then come across as "caring" when you announce that you're not doing what you probably had no intention of doing in the first place. The laughable part is Tuntsy, Colos, elite and Tokesy fall for it EVERY single time and march and clap and chant "Grate iz de LFD RFD PNM!!"

I hope those same customers do not come crying to the media when that same Gonzales and Imbert remove all the water subsidies and people begin to pay market rates.

Although I do understand the Minister's point off view, I partially disagree.

WASA management should have gone after those customers who haven't paid their bills in years (i'll say more than 2 years), and do so unannounced. No ads on radio, tv, social media etc. Many customers who were in arrears for one or two cycles (quarters) lined up also to pay.

Send a warning letter to the delinquent ones and if no payments, let the tractor drive up on them.

I believe that's what they did... except they announced their intentions. But how come it's only after talk of disconnections, people rushing to pay bills.....as I said before, taking something without paying is stealing, no matter the circumstances.
