Also see that on the apple forums itself Alot of users have this issue as well.

Likely and hopefully something that can be fixed with a software update
As it looks right now, the issue is being caused by the new modem Apple placed in the 12 series to allow 5G connectivity. Also,
iOS 14.4 beta 1 literally did nothing to fix this issue so we will have to rely on future updates.
In my personal position, I didn't pay $1280 US to wait around for a fix hence why I sent it back within my return period of 14 days....
I'll keep updated with the forums, and once it is fixed I'll repurchase my 12 pro max.

Yeah I agree.
I’d be upset as well.
Was going to buy a 12 pro this weekend but now I’m hesitant.

Just wait a bit bro, iOS 14.4 official release is on the horizon. Just subscribe to the forum I linked and read the reviews of the most recent posts. Fingers crossed iOS 14.4 fixes it.

When was your phone purchased?
My sister purchased a 12 in Dec 2020 and she doesn’t have any battery drain issues.
Battery lasts two days easily.

Did she check her standby time during the night with the phone unplugged? The first I preordered and got it around November (12 pro) then I sent back that one, got the 12 pro max middle of December then sent that one back beginning of January.
Mind you.... I didn't get any tax break. Full $3000 to clear EACH fml. ._. attached is a screen shot how it looks.

*note* my friend and I preordered at the same time, just he got the basic iPhone 12 and I got the pro and he doesn't get this issue. So maybe it's only some devices.

I only buy APPLE refurb from APPLE. Amazon would be an option too, they have a 90 day return policy on those but it can be a hit or miss. I trust apple refurbished only.

Didnt realise “accessories” like Android boxes exempt from duties and taxes as well now. That means others like Apple TV and Nvidia Shield exempt as well?

maybe customs treating them as computer equipment

The government indicated a push to digitization, therefore as many things that promote digital economy as possible should be exempt from duties. Mobile phones represent a good start.

Did security systems ever get that exemption?

only if the entire system comes in one box
cameras, dvr and monitor must be all together in one

a real farce

the initial announcement by larry howai took about a year to reach customs after budget announcement too

at least impsbert pushed his phone exemption thru

It was hit and miss.
Sometimes I use to land a 40k 50k in cameras and dvrs with no tax( no full systems)

Sometimes 10k in cameras would get taxed 4k

Was always random

Yup I have a couple so unless they say it’s a computer it’s normal tax on those . The stretches of Apple watches and smart watches hopefully doesn’t start to piss off the customs officers with Prealerts.
