Guys, my brother took the HBO package from Digicel just so he could watch the new Matrix. He downloaded the app and used the provider code to sign in. There were different accounts (Digicel T&T, Digicel Bdos, Digicel JM etc), the only one available was named "Novie". It had a bunch of stuff to "continue watching" like Friends on season 5, Pretty Little Liars etc and had a bunch of stuff in "my list" already. What is that about? Isn't it supposed to be a "fresh" account?

Also, can anyone tell me if he will be able to watch Matrix 4? I am not seeing it in the "coming soon" section on the HBOmaxtt site, it's completely absent. Please don't tell me a VPN is required...

Thanks for the response. It seems pointless to get the app if you require a VPN for the main attraction of the app. 3rd world tingz I guess.

What's fine? You still require a VPN either way right? With the firestick or using a computer that is.

What’s the cost of the HBO package he took?

^ The regular price of the HBO package was $55-60 per month. He got it on a special for $29.50 per month for 3 months.

He won't be going through the hassle of getting a VPN just to watch one movie, especially when he has no need for it otherwise.

Yes he did, which is a pretty common occurrence across the many streaming platforms. I believe they refer to this as "churn", where people watch the content they signed up for, then leave - or just leave when the trial period is over.

All it took was a phone call to Digicel and within half hour the HBO package was available. The average person would assume that if HBO Max's biggest draw is the release of Matrix 4 in this instance, then paying for the service would grant you access to that content, otherwise why bother?

Now, hearing he has to sign up for a VPN at an additional cost while not being familiar with those types of programs is an additional nuisance to already not getting what he (thought he) paid for. Just laying it out from his perspective.

As for the Windscribe VPN, doesn't free VPNs suck in terms of bandwidth provided and security? Also, would 2gb be enough to stream an entire movie anyways?

as mentioned in the thread before, you can switch off the windscribe VPN after HBOMAX.com is loaded.

you will be able to browse US content still. when the page times out due to inactivity, you need to just turn on the vpn, refresh hbomax, then turn it off.

Will set it up on his laptop and give it a go before he cancels the HBO package. Bless.

FYI hbomax is offering 50% off the annual fee for the first year. so it's $23.25 a month

Offer valid from December 9, 2021 to January 9, 2022.

If you sign up for trinidad hbo max, can you access the US version once you use a VPN?
I've been paying for the US version ever since and considering switching to save $$$
