Spin Down Water filters.

Postby jackal » September 16th, 2021, 6:37 pm

Over the past few months I have noticed that my WASA water was coming in very dirty.

I bought some filters, 3 to be exact.

Hooked them up, the first one clogged in about 2 hours, it was a 5micron. I installed a 20 micron, it holding out but the water is still dirty.

I end up putting one, 70 micron stainless steel, one 20 micron and one 5micron. The 5micron clogged in one day time. Now I have the SS 70, and two 20 micron. The water still mauby color.

Wanted to know if anyone used the spin down filters on the incoming WASA supply?

Are they working?

What else have you folks tried?

If I don't get through, I will have to put settling tanks and then pump out of it.

I use a 20 followed by a 10. 3 large tanks though, so I have a constant supply of water into the house, but the tanks take a long time to fill due to the filters getting clogged.

Same sentiments as you jackal. It is what it is. I just hope and pray no one falls sick or die due to their contaminated water because that would mean litigation proceedings and wasa does not have a dime to spend on a losing case.

For wasa water anything less than 20 microns would clog in a day. Even with that when the water nasty it still nasty. All my water goes to a tank, then to pump and filters and supply to the house. The sediments would settle at the bottom of the tank and the water coming out would be "clean". The only option is too have these tanks clean regularly as the sediments would buildup.

Home by me I have a very reliable water supply. Very rear does water go and the pressure is very adequate.

My water pump pack down some years now.

This problem only started to happen a few months ago. The water has always been clean.

I end up picking up two on Amazon yesterday, will see if that helps.

If not, I will have to do like you and use a sediment settling tank.

I disagree with your statement "wasa doesn't have a dime to spend on losing a case" .. Wasa doesn't care about the quality of water or expenditure.
That's why they recently lost a litigation matter for $140 million. And they bought chemicals used in the water treatment process for $7.2 million which was expired.
