Very, very interesting read.

Well the UK spat out the Caribbean and then the EU made sure sugar & banana collapsed. Under EU trade they stopped buying sugar and bananas.

UK and EU now want to show concern.

Then again the red government sold out Trinidad.

Was does the US do, not one jack chit

I guess people were too distracted by the fancy fight choreography in 90's seminal kickup titles to notice China was framing a narrative: the country ravaged by UK colonization and US exploitation was determined through perseverance to turn the tables.

This is the same country that shows little regard for its animals, environment and people so we should enjoy listening to Chinee Parang while we can.

China wants to become the next world power and they are definitely set to become it. And if you thought the UK or US were bad well you're in for a surprise.

China is far more arrogant and doesn't give a sheit about human rights.

China is just being a super power throwing around its weight. As a sovereign country each nation chooses to take the money or not.

And as espoused earlier, when the Europeans were doing it in the last century... no one stopped them. They grew rich on the blood and tears of other humans.

China very well knows that that money loaned will have 3/4 of it stolen. They don't mind, because at the end of the day, they getting back their money plus interest, or they're taking your project. All of our GORTT's knew this and took full advantage.

Well we in the middle of plenty changes.

The global monetary system is changing as the technology to challenge comes of age.

There is too much debt to raise US rates without crushing govt and corporate balance sheets, but they need to remain attractive to bond holders.
the petrodollar system is coming to an end..as is the USD dominance as a reserve currency.

China is having its own 2008 where internal corporate debt is coming home to roost.
China also NEEDS people to keep buying their goods, and they are suffering a big PR backlash.
The BRI is floundering ...and they can't fight everyone and everything.

Russia seems in the most resilient position and seems the only country to be in a position to temper China.

The US will not give up their spot of relevance any time soon without a fight , these super powers need to be on top yet only one can hold that spot so we all know what will be the inevitable action when these countries cannot come to agreement

Top class comment- As a matter of fact - Guadeloupe and Martinique today courtesy of France:

"The islands are tainted by contaminated soil and water from a cancer-causing pesticide that the French continued to authorize for use despite becoming aware of its dangerous effects.

Chlordecone, also known as Kepone, was sprayed on banana crops on the islands for decades. It was banned in the U.S. in 1975 after hundreds of workers at a Virginia factory developed nervous tremors, slurred speech, short-term memory loss and low sperm counts. However, it was not officially banned on the French islands until 1993, three years after it was banned in mainland France.

Research showed that 95 percent of Guadeloupe residents and 92 percent of Martinique residents deal with effects of the chemical. Reports show that Guadeloupe, a country of over 395,000 residents, has the highest prostate cancer rate in the world."

I mentioned UK for the west indies et al

but other old world countries did the same,
eg Belgium, France (Africa)

Out of all of them France has the best track record of supporting their colonies and not plundering/dumping them.

For example Martinque has regular flights to France with Air France
French colonies can access good health care in France for next to nothing.
They will even put you up with an apartment for your spouse whilse recuperating.

SBCS used to offer Mandarin as well a good few years ago. They saw the writing on the wall early.
