The credit unions have various group plans that are cost effective and in some cases no underwriting

Check which ever CU makes sense

Your age is a consideration. Most of the credit union plans you have to join below 60. I think one or 2 might be 65. Some only cover you up to a certain age and not through retirement. Most company plans will offer 200 or 300,000 lifetime cover after retirement (sagicor small company plan). The credit union plans, generally, will do 3 year renewable for the same value, but you have to be aware and check (320 a month, plus about 300 for a plus one and 800 for a whole family) . The 3 insurance companies I saw, mostly, with group plans through the credit unions, were sagicor, beacon and maritime. If you are already a retiree, the only one I found was Eastern credit unions plan with Maritime. You can join before 74.

Thats TECU- everything is on their website.
TATIL is the insurance co- and once youre signed up you present your card to a networked pharmacy and you pay 20% of the cost of the covered drugs.
So the member doesnt have to be out of pocket and file a claim etc

Im also on the Family Indemnity Plan through Sando CU
528 a month covers 5 members with a 100K death benefit
Made a claim last year- it settled in 3 days.
Essentially a group term life

There is a Health component of the FIP-but I dont have the details.

Ahh ok. Plan seems solid enough. I'm not with any CU atm.

However my company's medical plan with Beacon has a separate benefit for $50k rolled up into it in the event of death of any covered family member.

Add every one you can- its the same 528 whether 2 or 6 which I think is the limit.

You can add direct family members and father in law and mother in law, mother and father or any combination of those persons.

CUNA have plans as low as 212 tt per mth for FIP which gives you $40,000.00 in the event anyone on the plan dies. The plans don't come into effect immediately though but there are no medicals required etc up to the age of 70.

I think if someone dies within 2 years of joining Cuna plans they will give you back the premiums you paid

There is a 2 month exclusion period -not 2 years.
IE ded on the 1st day of the 3rd month.

Yes it is
The lack of underwriting is a winner.

i not even seeing medical ins on the website

reason i ask is i know many companies have a policy where if you have medical coverage from say your employer with sagicor
you cannot take out coverage elsewhere which happens to use sagicor
can’t double dip in the same company

I think cuna mutual is its own insurance co.
The only exclusion on the medical is duplication within the plan.

It says nothing about how they deal if you have another med plan.

The general principle will always be to prevent you from being compensated twice for the same illness.
