Ocean Shipping vs Air

Postby slickrick777 » January 6th, 2022, 9:04 am

Well never used a ocean shipping company yet and was thinking to try 1 as I want to ship in some fairly heavy items example 40lbs and up! Can someone guide me on which company seems to be the better and average cost factors, delivery periods etc?

seabox.tt for ocean freight. Used them in the past and was fairly satisfied with service.
Heavy items via air will be very co$tly

X3000

I use them for everything don't even have a skybox anymore tbh. Also hazardous material like colognes and online tax do not apply to sea freight

Laparkan offers a door to door service.
You ship with them via air or sea and they receive, clear customs and deliver the shipment to your home - the prices are not bad at all and the convenience during Covid is very much worth it.

Is it similar process like skybox.... Shipped to given address and they deliver to doorsteps?

Yes.
Slower than air, obviously - but courier brought my stuff where I asked. Bike ( 4'x6'x1' box), shoes, envelopes, computer box.

For huge packages like LCL , I suppose you'll need to chat with them

ok so seaboxtt looks like the better option? Had a bad experience with websource as I shipped a pair of car shocks to them they blocked it and said they will either have to return it or still get it to me via a sea service (oceanit) and well I said obviously I want it so go ahead! They assured me 3 weeks, well ai waited 2 months for that! Also can you give an average of the different costs with air vs sea example an item weighing 40lbs example bluetooth speaker etc?

Their site has a calculator/estimator.
Aeropost has one too, so you can compare.

Fellas, looking to ship some heavy auto parts ( leaf springs, shocks etc) from Miami,
Has anyone used LaParkan for this kinda stuff recently?
Was their service/ price good?
Does the Online purchase tax apply to ocean Freight?
Thanks

No opt on ocean shipping.
I did Seabox for my large parts which was full shocks and struts and a bonnet.
No issues but don't suspect Laparkan would be any different.

nothing wrong, just they slow but I dont mind

they did add on an extra $25 box protection(bogus) surcharge fee which I find brings them very close to skybox prices for small items, only saving grace is no opt

Tbh the peak season increase is fair because yall ever went to collect a package around black Friday and Christmas sales? They really do put in the work.

I use to use seabox when they now came out. Prices were good. But now they sticking real bad and prices are just like air freight or even higher. I will not be using seabox anymore.
