I use the same mixture as in my brush cutter, so I'm ready whenever the Power cartel Fup...Phone Surgeon wrote:pugboy wrote:most of the better ones have a fuel lock off valve between tank and carb
so just lock that and let engine run dry
you can use additive stabil to keep gas good for a long time
even the cheap pulsar one i have has a fuel lock off
i don't know how other generators are but i really forgot how to start the pulsar and then i realize it has signs and stickers EVERYWHERE on the machine itself with step by step instructions on how to start
by the fuel tank it mark "50:1" gas mixture
by the fuel lock off valve it has a sticker showing which way is on and which way is off
by the power switch it have a sign saying which is off and on
and then a long sticker with full instructions on how to start it
where to position choke, fuel valve etc
good for dummies like me
i throw pure unleaded gas in it first and it was starting and cutting off..then i realize the big "50:1" sign lol
I got my inverter repaired and collected it today.I'm going to invest in a generator but still looking around atmagent007 wrote:Ok so how many of you all purchased generators and willing to share your purchase price and thoughts on its features etc cause plenty talk passing here and I'm sure there are lurkers who want some more ownership and buying experience feedback.

I have a 5 liters container that I fill with premium fuel and use 100ml stihl 2 stroke oil to mix.Kenjo wrote:bgh wrote:I use the same mixture as in my brush cutter, so I'm ready whenever the Power cartel Fup...Phone Surgeon wrote:pugboy wrote:most of the better ones have a fuel lock off valve between tank and carb

What exactly is this mixture you all talking about ?

Never had a generator but with the pressure washer there is the oil filler abs the separate gas filler ports . Do you guys mix the oil with gas as a necessity ?
There are four different types of fuel used for generators (fuel/oil mix, diesel, gasoline, and natural gas/LPG).Phone Surgeon wrote:Kenjo wrote:bgh wrote:I have a 5 liters container that I fill with premium fuel and use 100ml stihl 2 stroke oil to mix.Kenjo wrote:bgh wrote:I use the same mixture as in my brush cutter, so I'm ready whenever the Power cartel Fup...Phone Surgeon wrote:pugboy wrote:most of the better ones have a fuel lock off valve between tank and carb

yes you have to premix it and put it in the fuel tank
same for weed wackers/mistblowers etc
pugboy wrote:are you implying hooking the ats to house main panel and using it to swap the whole breaker panel to the generator?

Then I retract my previous statement, sir.TK! wrote:adnj wrote:If so, at the least the installation isn't to code.
Sir, I'd never recommend anything not to code. The plans must be approved by TTEC and the installation professionally done.
EDIT: A TT$1000.00 ATS only supports 100A max. It works fine for a small house or a sub-panel. The goal is affordability and practicality.
Was thinking about the car muffler system..will do more research on itX_Factor wrote:seeing many persons use a car exhaust to the existing generator's exhaust and they get on average 3-5db less
and if you build an insulated generator box almost 10db less
seems like a good way to keep noise levels down...anyone here ever tried those methods?

but not sure about 1/2hp pump capable on small gen
370 watts is 1/2 Hp.gastly369 wrote:Total has a 370w pump... Can work with those small gens... Only thing idk how the smart head would handle the "dirty current" from non inverter gens
this one runs our two deep freeze at the same time. it not strong enough to start the chop saw though.bamfo_dennis wrote:
