Russia without nukes would be treated like any other third world country.

That country has zero economic relevance and is losing military relevance the longer it stays in Ukraine.

The military aid sent to Ukraine is more modern than anything Russia has in its stockpile. That puts Russia into perspective.

By the time this war is done, the myth of Russia would be well and truly over

The Russian-installed governor of Ukraine's southern Kherson region proposed residents take their children and leave for safety, in one of the starkest signs yet that Moscow is losing its grip on territory it claims to have annexed. READ MORE: https://str.sg/wHvw

The EIU also said a European boycott of Russian oil will further deplete the economy. The energy sector makes up about a third of the Russia's GDP, including half of all fiscal revenues and 60% of exports, CNBC reported.

Yellen and Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo are promoting the G-7's strategic price cap on Russian oil at the IMF meetings this week as an effective method to deny the Kremlin the income to continue its war against Ukraine.

Sanctions have also effectively rendered Russia dependent on "suppliers of last resort like Iran and North Korea for basic military gear," according to Yellen.

"At the same time, we have provided record amounts of both military and economic assistance to Ukraine," she added "We are seeing on the battlefield the military edge this growing disparity is creating."

Is this feeling based on Putin's speech in Astana yesterday?

Vlad has constantly lied over the years on Ukraine so I would take his winding down comments less seriously.

They are several pipelines. Which one do you want them shut down?

The largest one has been shut down already

Mass shooting at a Russian Defense Force camp.

Image

MOSCOW (AP) — Two men fired at soldiers on a Russian military firing range near Ukraine on Saturday, killing 11 and wounding 15 before being slain themselves, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The ministry said in a statement that the shooting took place in the Belgorod region in southwestern Russia that borders Ukraine. It said two men from an unnamed former Soviet republic fired on volunteer soldiers during target practice and were killed by return fire.

The ministry called the incident a terrorist attack.

Europe represents about 75% of global pellet demand and is more diverse in its pellet usage than are other regions. In Europe pellets are used for residential heating (40%), power plants (36%), commercial heating (14%), and combined heat and power plants (10%). Demand is strong in both the industrial and residential sectors and is likely to continue even beyond 2025. According to a just-released study, European Wood Pellets – Where will the raw-material come from?, the rise in wood pellet consumption will put significant pressure on raw material markets in Europe and require new sources such as forest residues, recovered wood, and energy crops. Raw material prices and availability vary widely by geography but increased competition for wood fiber, including sawmill byproducts, will impact pulp and wood panel industries throughout Europe.

The most crucial feedstock for the wood pellet sector is currently sawmill residues (85% of the mix), roundwood (13%), and recovered wood (2%). This mix is likely to change in the coming years with the forecasted expansion of the wood pellet industry.

Although wood residues will remain an important feedstock, especially in northern and western Europe, they will not be sufficient to meet the future fiber demand from the growing wood pellet sector. New fiber sources are needed, and the greatest potential for increased supply is forest residues and energy crops.

Without air superiority, Russia has been unable to stop Ukrainian attacks on its soldiers with U.S.-supplied M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or Himars, and other weapons. Kyiv’s forces have capitalized on Russia’s limited ability to respond by retaking hundreds of square miles of territory from the invading army since early last month.

Russia has recently reacted to Ukraine’s battlefield successes by unleashing deadly attacks on civilian targets using missiles and drones. But even those strikes betray weakness in Moscow’s air strategy, Western military analysts say, because it must rely on remote aircraft rather than piloted planes, out of fear they will be shot down.

“Failure to achieve air supremacy is one of the decisive things that cost Russia their advantage in the war,” said Jakub Janovsky, a military analyst with Oryx, an independent team of analysts that has tracked open-source intelligence on equipment losses throughout the war. By mid-May, Russian losses in Ukraine had fallen to fewer than 10 planes and helicopters a week, compared with more than 60 a week in early March, according to data from the Ukrainian defense ministry.

they gonna be having power outages to conserve their heating materials.

once one european died from hypothermia, the european leaders would have acted against the best interest of the people they represent.

keep posting ur drivel, it just serves as a record for the idiocy of the european leaders, and the imbeciles that think they doing the right thing.

You may only need a light jacket for this year's Christmas Eve volksmarch.

Image

As temperatures begin to drop on the old continent, the weather is becoming an important factor in politics, policy and even the economy. Considering that heating accounts for around 50% of the bloc’s energy consumption, a warmer winter could be the difference between energy shortages and smooth sailing for the European Union.

Member States have agreed on a 15% energy consumption cut and have been racing to fill gas storage capacities ahead of schedule. The higher temperatures, however, are good news for households and businesses, as they could allow policymakers to avoid energy rationing.
