Poor Nikita

The Haas Formula 1 Team say they have terminated Nikita Mazepin’s contract and their title partnership with Uralkali with immediate effect.

“Haas F1 Team has elected to terminate, with immediate effect, the title partnership of Uralkali, and the driver contract of Nikita Mazepin,” said a statement from the team.

“As with the rest of the Formula 1 community, the team is shocked and saddened by the invasion of Ukraine and wishes for a swift and peaceful end to the conflict.”

I feel sorry for Haas.

They had poor reliability in the first test.

They had to cut ties with their main sponsor who is, probably rightfully, taking legal action against them for breach of contract.

And now they are going to lose at least half a day in this second test because their equipment arrived late through no fault of their own.

And having forgone developing their 2020 car in 2021 in order to start off 2022 on solid ground with the new rules, it looks like they will be on the back foot again.

The experts seem to think Haas has a good baseline design. I do hope they are able to pull themselves back up the order.

This. Baffles me how they've stuck with him so long, or how Alpine has hired Otmar. Mediocrity at its finest.

Race simulations so far point to Merc, Ferrari and RBR - the usual culprits.

You can't judge him on last years' performance though since HAAS basically just attended the 2021 races to keep their spot in F1. But I really hoping to see a turnaround for him for all the pressure he seeing these past few years. I doubt you will see Toto and George Michael selling Swedish saunas anytime soon. Guenther workin; hard for dat money.

Anyway... I'm hoping to see Leclerc do some damage on Sunday. I think Ferrari got a great chance with him and Sainz. Only time will tell how well those swimming pool side pods stand up to the pressure.

Agreed..Lulu is meh boy..but its going to be interesting to see how both Ferrari drivers duke it out against Max... or even Russel if he gets a decent car... all the Gurus been saying over the years this person and that person cud stand up against Max... lets see. Pity the RB car is built with Max's DNA and not any of Checo's.

Good cars available to all....

This year looks to be another good one based on qualifying
Ferrari look to be back at the front
Haas is no longer at back
Mercedes in the midfield.

I hope Haas finishes in the points tomorrow. One of the Red Bulls will win the race. Max will bulldoze his way to the front and either get the lead or take out the two Ferraris in the process.

Something with the Mercedes engines...they, Williams and Aston all at the back. Maybe a cooling issue?
Will see alot of development and changes in a month or two when they head back to Europe

Good point.

If this race is an indication for this season, I'm in love. It's been fantastic.

Disappointing results for Redbull after such a strong race. This season should be a great one. The Merc power unit is really lacking power.
