The regional shift in financial capability is real and countries such as Jamaica, Guyana and even Barbados are proving to be moving in a positive trajectory as compared to our T&T which is in reverse mode.
We just have to take note of how many powerful trade missions are actively engaging each country and its clear interest in T&T has declined significantly.
Our condition suggest that for the foreseeable future we may have to survive on drawing from saving, borrowings and sale of capital, since investor injections into new local enterprise is unlikely.

Looking forward to the analysis (apart from blaming Kamla) on how our decision makers brought us to this point.

We simply are not competitive enough in the Caribbean. Unilever,, plus virtually all the oil/gas service companies have moved on.

Some trinis won't be able to sleep tonight knowing that this happened. They will start digging for dirt on Jamaica to make themselves feel better

The TTD is overvalued.

Lowering it is political suicide but it would have to be done.

It's interesting that this happened a few decades into our youths appropriating the degenerate aspects of Jamaican culture.

Does Jamaican corporate culture embrace Gaza and Gully?

Resounding no.

Jamaican corporate culture is extremely organized, on time and efficient.

No old noise. old talk in cubicles etc. It's usually very quiet until a phone rings.

Exactly. We already imported their ghetto culture here and the thug noise they call music. Why beat up on Jamaican corporate acquisitions? Let them take over Massy, CAL, RBL and FCB next.

Remember when Jamaica left federation and Eric Williams said 1 from 10 leaves zero....what has changed from then to now...Trinidad continues to be the JA of the Caribbean. How does CARICOM actually benefit us, how many countries took loans from us and we had to write it off....cough cough Guyana...

Trini pride hurt because of a buyout and owners just doing good business. Access to millions of US dollars. They’ll be fine while the rest of y’all beat up
