Was driving on the CRH from west to east tonight. No power in parts of beetham, and then from UWI lights to Macoya and then Trincity lights. I didn't even know I crossed one of the intersections till just after. Real dark.

Yup, heard about that.
TTEC reported on the root cause yet?

T&TEC has been plagued with generation, transmission and distribution problems for more than 2 years now.
My in-property voltage monitor registers fluctuations from 109v-120v on any given day and the performance of pumps, appliances and electronics responds accordingly.
Today, security cameras, ac units, voltage regulator, led lighting, computers continue to be accounting for above average maintenance costs,
One can well imagine the experience whats happening with manufacturers whose equipment may be suffering the same fate.
Unfortunately, the manner in which the average consumer is exposed to losses does not make claims a viable option.
Clearly, T&TEC have serious issues embedded in their network and must execute a full risk management assessment from generation to distribution since catastrophic failure is eminent.
Admittedly money may be a problem, but the losses the country sustains presently and what could occur in a total 'black-out' is huge and debilitating,

only way ttec could fix their problems is by raising rates

cant expect to be paying low rates and want bess service

This logic always comes up and if accepted makes any expectation for better standards of public services irrelevant.
Universally substandard infrastructure in T&T at this time including roads, water, drainage, security, telecommunication etc. are all therefore easily justified.
Unfortunately, what this also means is that economic recovery is probably unrealistic.

whether you accept it or not

its facts

cant expect good quality service when no money is being invested into the infrastructure

BRACE YOURSELVES FOR MORE POWER OUTAGES as T&TEC, which owes the NGC $7b, cannot afford standby power generations, due to the price of gas.

With respect to the tweet by Kejan Haynes shown here, what is meant by gas kept in reserve and only filled up after a trip? Is there a tank somewhere? Also, does ttec's debt prevent it from keeping a reserve?

Utter nonsense. Certain generator plants tripped at the TGU plant resulting in automatic load shedding. Load shedding is a fundamental of power electric engineering. Has nothing to do with money or gas.

Regardless of monies owed, NGC prioritizes gas supply for the generation plants over everything else.

"tree fall on line" - current gone
"breaker trip" -current gone
"rain fall to hard" current gone
"gas done" current gone

one mc excuse after the other yet no answer a to who own the pos land now where powergen was, what going to be built there, who own the new independent generation plants, why pnm minister only fulling they pockets an lying to the population who keep swallowing the bs that they shove down our throat.reopen pwergen and issue fixed.

As with everything in this country it's all political, probably the build up of the case for the impending rate increase by the RIC....

T&TEC general manager Kelvin Ramsook, says an increased frequency of outages over the past few months is partly because of high fuel prices, which have forced T&TEC to rely less on maintaining standby capacity as a backup when issues affect power generation.

Certain power generation facilities change ownership. Expect hiccups.

Some men get rid of certain contractors to be the main contractor in there. With the change of ownership it's a well known fact that the former contractor has a good relationship with the new owner so current contractor may go bye bye and their affiliates.

There seems to be some kind of natural gas tanks involved. Hmph.
