Yes, there was. I have seen the 1940s estimates based on blast radius and fallout half life compared to population density of targeted sites.
What I offered you included the people that died decades later from radiation poisoning.
I find it peculiar that you fail to recognize that Japan was responsible for 3× as many deaths from the invasion of China than can be attributed to all deaths caused by Nazi Germany throughout WWII.
"no data actually supporting the estimated damage" is just BS.
You really don't know what you're talking about, do you?timelapse wrote:Had a nuke ever been dropped before?adnj wrote:timelapse wrote:Tell me about the death toll caused by US ally the great Winston Churchilladnj wrote:timelapse wrote:There was no data actually supporting the estimated damage of a nuke because it was the first time it was done in modern times.adnj wrote:I just did. Operation paperclip poached the German scientists.I actually preferred that nobody got nuked.Bombs from the sky is a real fassy man way to fightDizzy28 wrote:Prior to gun powder guns were never used
Prior to industrial chlorine production gas wasn't used
Prior to the industrial revolution ships of the line were made of wood not steel
Once technology is discovered that have war purposes weapons are inevitable.
Maybe you preferred the Germans got the A Bomb first though. They were after all the first to do nuclear fission and were also attempting to construct an A bomb. Had they been more resource rich than America we might have been all been speaking German

Why shoot down the baloon when im sure they have the tech to have brought it down without having to shoot it down?
Surely they could have ascertained if it was a weather baloon or a spy baloon, this just not making sense.

Optics and posturing.
Look at the amount of news stories about it.
NATO requires every pilot to log 180 hours per year. Aerial drones used for targeting practice using AA missiles cost US$300,000 and up.Dizzy28 wrote:Saw a post ..supposedly the mission to shoot down the ballon cost US$10m so regardless of what China gets the last laugh.
The cost of the flight time of the F22 and its missile
