Not blaming him but the first 2 were B-movies and the nature of those movies means they get away with a lot of crap, like Vin Diesel evading capture in a bright orange Supra in F1 and the Duke of Hazard jump onto the yacht for 2F2F.
Tokyo Drift was an attempt to make a franchise out of the IP even if Blue Eyes and Baldy weren't going to commit to any more movies.
F4 was a reboot/direction shift from (what Hollywood thought was) tuner culture into an action movie with chase scenes and it worked enough.
When the Rock was deemed the only person capable of stopping a team of Californian street racers turned fugitives turned heist legends, it opened the door for the longest runway in the world, launch day game physics, Tej being a cross between Forge and Mr. Wizard and Brian capably fighting Ong Bak.

Don't forget when the Rock had to team up with Jason statham to fend off highly advanced soldiers and a literal super human, using just fire and sticks.
I fed up hoss. Christopher had the right idea, three batman movies and done. Leave it on a high note....
Notice that most people quote/meme the first two movies than any others too.........
