If anyone willing to give some information on exactly what to tell them to change at the 40000km mark . I was told both fuel filters would be changed as well as a normal 5k service . What to expect again ?
expect to pay plenty money, especially if they keep ur Navara overnight.
check the invoice for "sublet fee" when they finish digging ur wallet, and ask the service person what it means.
but, if u really must know, a 40,000km service is what the Syrians at n&m term as a "major service interval". so beyond the basic oil change and pretending to change ur oil filters, they'll also pretend to check other major things like - radiator fluid check, transmission fluid check, brake pad check, e-brake check, body check, air filter check, cabin air filters check, a/c check, lights check, windshield washer check, and other minor things that can be done by any responsible owner with just a little bit of knowledge.
as for my sarcastic remark above - n&m will tell you the "Labour charge" is free, and you'll see $0.00 on the invoice under service charge - but when u look under "sublet fee" you'll see $495.00, especially if the lady at the front desk in the office behind the morvant showroom calls you to tell u they will have to keep the vehicle until the next day to "complete the 40+ point service".
a lot of people don't know or maybe choose to ignore that there are other affiliated service garages that can service your Nissan vehicle from Neal & massy, as they are part of the n&m financial group - masterserv, automotive components, and a couple more (can't remember off the top of my head). the last service my dad did on his Navara at automotive components cost $300 for oil change and he brought his own oil (they supplied the original nissan filter though). Just some food for thought - might be worth calling them.
As a side note, I changed the oil on my dad's Navara yesterday, all it cost was the two gallons of shell rimula r6 ($345 each) , a Nissan oil filter ($140) and two boxes of char Sui Kai fan for lunch ($32 each) and a dozen chicken wantons ($18).
If I wanted to charge him I would have looked in all the corners of the van and squeezed up all his rubber hoses, fan belt and say "yeah major service is comolete" and call that George.
