Before you remap, consider what you doing to remap for - more power? for towing? For heavy hauling?

Often when you remap it's just to fool the injectors to pump more diesel in, and usually done with a piggyback ECU unit. However it usually works best with clean diesel like in the UK/Australia... our dirty, low cetane diesel here will cause a lot of black smoke when you pulse those injectors more rapidly. You'll get more power, but you'll see a lot of black smoke and the EGR will clog up faster.

Easiest thing to do is a hard reset (take off the battery terminals, and bump the brake pedal, then reconnect both terminals), and then drive your navara either hard or easy - dependin on how you want the ecu to learn your driving style.

Was thinking about getting more power on my nav, but you made a great point with the rubbish diesel we have here. I tried a plug and play chip and the gains weren't as expected. The EGR can it be cleaned manually?

One of my teacher did one of those Chips on his nav. 4x2.
Spins his 20" with ease. Much more smoke tho. Not too much like a older diesel but more than stock

From one of the nissan navara facebook groups:

Seems interesting, and I'd like to see what options N&M would bring down to Trinidad.

I shall look into this matter and investigate further, and bring y'all a full report soon.

the biggest downfall would be Neal and Massy - i really like this new navara coming out but having to deal with Neal and Massy for warranty and service - forget it...

Troys or TJs auto supplies in Garden Village Arouca.

Think they stock the Amsoil Injector Cleaner instead of the Diesel Concentrate for some time now. I mix the injector cleaner with the cetane boost.

I was actually looking for the Diesel Concentrate but only saw the injector cleaner at Unipet in Tacarigua. So essentially the injector cleaner serves the same purpose then?

Yes I read the manual a lot , but I want to know the cost or average of this service from NM . If anyone willing to give some information on exactly what to tell them to change at the 40000km mark . I was told both fuel filters would be changed as well as a normal 5k service . What to expect again ?

expect to pay plenty money, especially if they keep ur Navara overnight.

check the invoice for "sublet fee" when they finish digging ur wallet, and ask the service person what it means.

but, if u really must know, a 40,000km service is what the Syrians at n&m term as a "major service interval". so beyond the basic oil change and pretending to change ur oil filters, they'll also pretend to check other major things like - radiator fluid check, transmission fluid check, brake pad check, e-brake check, body check, air filter check, cabin air filters check, a/c check, lights check, windshield washer check, and other minor things that can be done by any responsible owner with just a little bit of knowledge.

as for my sarcastic remark above - n&m will tell you the "Labour charge" is free, and you'll see $0.00 on the invoice under service charge - but when u look under "sublet fee" you'll see $495.00, especially if the lady at the front desk in the office behind the morvant showroom calls you to tell u they will have to keep the vehicle until the next day to "complete the 40+ point service".

a lot of people don't know or maybe choose to ignore that there are other affiliated service garages that can service your Nissan vehicle from Neal & massy, as they are part of the n&m financial group - masterserv, automotive components, and a couple more (can't remember off the top of my head). the last service my dad did on his Navara at automotive components cost $300 for oil change and he brought his own oil (they supplied the original nissan filter though). Just some food for thought - might be worth calling them.

As a side note, I changed the oil on my dad's Navara yesterday, all it cost was the two gallons of shell rimula r6 ($345 each) , a Nissan oil filter ($140) and two boxes of char Sui Kai fan for lunch ($32 each) and a dozen chicken wantons ($18).

If I wanted to charge him I would have looked in all the corners of the van and squeezed up all his rubber hoses, fan belt and say "yeah major service is comolete" and call that George.
