Hey peoples...a lil update for those interested:
Mods:
1) I moved the 2 1/2" to 2" reducer from up against the throttle body, to as close to the intercooler outlet as possible and used 2 1/2" using marine exhaust hose (the wire reinforced one - it cheap & works), in the place of the 2", from it to the throttle body.
2) Increased boost from 9/13psi to 11/14psi
3) Unbolted the muffler/silencer to see if a free flow would have any +/- effect.
Results:
1) Better acceleration response felt...no feeling of added lag
2) Not a drastic differecne but enough to feel & enjoy.
All in all, it just feels better & better after every mod thus far.
3) Lost low end torque but ran out the gear faster on the high end...wasn't worth it...I reconnected the stock muffler/silencer.
So with present pro-mods (FMIC with 2" inlet & 2 1/2" outlet piping, 11/14psi boost, K&N air & oil filters & Redline oils thru out)...I ran it on the Dyno today and got 83 rwhp & 180 ft-lbs of torque.
The thing is, I didn't find the Dyno man b4 I started modding to record my base point...and all I finding online is the FWHP (& that conversion too vague to use).
So if anyone knows the stock "rwhp" & "ft-lbs of torque" of the local 2006/08 Hilux 2.5L "Hi-spec" 4x4, 2KD-FTV, non intercooled, please share the info...it would be greatly appriciated.
Next on the list: "Chip it" then re-Dyno
