I have a hilux 3.0 D4d and i've seen this megafire "piggyback chip upgrade" but never spoke to anyone who has it installed for a while.
The decent bump in power, does it remain like that, is it actually 200bhp on a stock hilux / navarra?

P.S. this chip is around 12g ,is it worth the price tag or would raising boost and fuel be a better option? Can boost be raised without the van going into some sort of safe mode?

Some other brands i've seen on the net are Dpchip, Peak power, Dcommander,Lightbox, and Ecushop

Please post some reviews for everyone's benefit, on these chips or any other chips tried on any brand 4x4's and where to get them at what price.

and we dynoed a 3.0L with a k&n filter and the chip and 197at the wheels. the torque was RIDICULOUS THOU, CLOSE TO 300+

Thanks biggy82

Interesting read!

But in your experience would you say that this chip is better than the megafire chip in terms of performance i.e. 0-60 times, top speed, amt of black smoke?

yes, it calibrates itself automatically via a standard procedure.

yes, as long as it is rated for said vehicle. the calibration process needs to be re-done of course

agreed....you can get a good one for less than 1/3 of that price

STEINBAUER Tuning Technologies has a chip as well. Their chip was used on the Hilux for the Australian Outback test of all the major pickups in 2007.

The thing is there is no chip WLT 2500 :x

The guy I bought my roll n lock from in Morvant (next door to Auto Guru not sure if they are affiliated) has piggy backs. Think it's the Spider. He normally has them in stock. You just need to specify the vehicle and he will let you know if the harness is available or if he has to order. Cost was around $5500.00 installed. Contact 767 4878.

Can you tell me if this truck with the Spyder chipped truck is still on the road problem free?

Can you get a long term review from the owner?
