I would first check the fuel and air filters, and use an Amsoil fuel system cleaner to clean the injectors. Then maybe check the maf sensor.
Never had that problem with mine so I don't know what else you would look for.

Try using a Liqui Moly Super Diesel Additive or you can do a Liqui Moly Diesel Purge of the complete fual system
contact us on facebook Liqui Mloy Trinidad & Tobago for information on whwere you can purchase the Supaer Diesel Additive or whwere you can do the Diesel Purge service

local 3.2L Sportero owner here
is yours auto or manual

2.5L or 3.2L

before you run off and buy a set of miracles in a bottle, please check the mechanical functionality of the vehicle (no offense to the powersellers)
that problem sounds like it is fuel or air related, a starvation upon opening the throttle - either air or fuel
clean filters (fuel and air) and sensors (MAF and fuel pressure) are the first checks, before buying any treatments
the vehicle is supposed to work normally with regular (no-additive) diesel and air.
get it working properly first and then consider additives to maintain proper working functionaliy
before you pull-off, if you revv the engine, are you getting a healthy idle and revv

if you revv a bit before pull-off then pull-off are you getting the bucking

if you want a good mech call 305-9900 (tell him Shawn with the 3.2L sent you)
a scan of the vehicle should also be arranged

I agree with venum , I had a L200 customer that purchased air filter from me that solved his black smoke problem If you need a good L200 mechanic pm me the guy that services all of NGC sporteros buys parts from me ... he deals with this brand daily so he is quite good.
if 2.5 you need to change your belts soon i guess I stock all belts for this vehicle I messaged you my contact info already.

I don't see a scan helping here if the check light isn't on. Definitely give the sensors a clean (CRC makes a specific maf sensor cleaner that is plastic safe, but I use the qd contact cleaner without any issues), maybe your EGR/intake manifold is dirty?
What's your mileage?

^^^ scan sometimes brings up codes that have been logged in the ECU. not every code that gets logged triggers the check-engine light
EGR and intake manifold are possible suspects to cause air starvation, so check them as Val said

True that. Plus the check light resets itself after a couple restarts/days, assuming the problem is not reporting anymore.
