I just got my first fully owned vehicle...a 2008 Toyota Hilux. It's been a workhorse for 2 previous owners so i expected wear on clutch, brakes etc. I'm new to 4x4 driving.
Just this morning i was ascending a driveway (about a 30 degree slope) in which i usually enable H4 (four wheel drive). At the top of the Top of the slope is flat road. So i depress the clutch and select H2 (rear wheel drive). While i'm rolling in 1st gear there is the sound of rattling. Pretty loud and i stopped the vehicle. Continued abit and the rattling got louder....until i reached another hill. I could move up the hill but the rattling sound continued. I ascended..stopped...hill test....and the 4x4 light comes off. I know you may have to reverse or accel to transfer to H2. But is this rattling a bad sign?
If so Please suggest a competent Diesel Mechanic in the south region of Trinidad. I'd like to do a thorough test.
