Hilux, NP300 are they reliable?

Postby Nixx » January 14th, 2020, 10:11 pm

Hi,

looking to not waste $.

is the " ..I eh know what van to buy " thread i.e. http://img.trinituner.com/v4/forums/vie ... 1&t=327141 still accurate?

Is the local hilux being sold with 2.4 2GD-FTV or 2.8 1GD-FTV affected by these reported DPF issues? Which one is more reliable?

Is there some truth to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1yxADSJ5xo for the np300?

Thanks

Hilux is bulletproof and holds resale value - it is more expensive than the np300 but it really comes down to your personal preference, Both are pretty reliable - the np300 has been out for a couple of years and haven't heard of any major issues. I currently own an np300 going on 2 years and it works well - nothing so far and great on diesel.

Honestly, if I had the money I would have gotten the Hilux 2.8, so again both are great vehicles, it's really up to u

btw the video clip you have there is a different engine from what sold here - we have the YD25 - same engine as the older Navara
