World's #1 Trackchaser visit to Trinidad and Tobago

Postby Moyer » December 10th, 2014, 12:33 am

Trinidad and Tobago – Trackchasing Country #68 – Lifetime Track #1,928

This past January my wife and I had the chance to visit Trinidad and Tobago. We came to see the racing sanctioned by the Trinidad and Tobago Auto Sports Association.

This visit was all part of my hobby of “trackchasing”. What is trackchasing? It’s a hobby that takes me to places faraway from my home in California. With trackchasing I am trying to see wheel to wheel auto racing at as many different racetracks as I can. Trinidad and Tobago would become the 68th different country where I have trackchased and my 1,928th lifetime track where I’ve seen racing. I am known at the “World’s #1 Trackchaser”.

We can’t thank Nizam Mohammed enough for his help is keeping us informed about the race. Without him we might not have made it to T&T. I’ll also give a shout out to group president Robert Amar. I know you folks have had some trouble with local government that caused a slight change of venue in January. Robert did a great job of sharing the issues with the local media. We also had a fantastic time visiting both Trinidad and then Tobago. The people in the country are so friendly!

After each track visit I make I post a Trackchaser Report (review) on my website at www.randylewis.org. Here’s the link to my Trinidad and Tobago report:

Feel free to leave any comments at the bottom of the page on my site.

You might like to see the two YouTube videos I posted from the trip as well. The first focuses on the racing. The second is a news clip from Trinidad TV talking about the governmental problems that happened back in January. I’m happy to see that you folks got to race at Wallerfield in August. Here are the link to the two videos:

I’m not sure when we will get the chance to visit Trinidad and Tobago again but I hope it will be soon!

Good luck to everyone associated with racing in T&T. I wish you the best of luck. Also thanks to everyone we met and who made us feel welcome at the Larry Gomes Stadium race.
