Update guys. The matter was rectified with customs. The 25% discount still applies! Their software would be updated to reflect this correction. Please let your brokers check with customs.

Good day guys,
I am interested in bringing down an suv which averages around 2000cc. I saw the rates of the 2000cc- 2499cc being around $21 per cc. However, some of the japanese export dealers have the engines registered at 1990 cc, will that still be charged at the 2000cc rate???

Thanks...
This is just one of the sites i saw, i haven't decided yet...

In a word No as now it is too late...if it was around 2008/11 and you import it before 2014/11 then yes.

Actually, if I recall correctly ... once it was manufactured in 2008 then you can import it in 2014 (6 year old car). You can check with a foreign used dealer to make sure, but as far as I know once it on the sea before year end 2014, then they would allow you to register the car once all of your documents show that the car was bought, deregistered, loaded on the RORO ship etc before the end of the year.

Can anyone confirm?

i myself want to know, i want to import a car that was manufactured in 2012/7 can this be done?

Is it possible to get financing for an imported vehicle if you plan on bringing it in yourself or with the help of a broker?

I brought a vehicle from Japan but the certified copy was stamped "vehicle must not be transferred under 3 years without permission from the ministry of trade" . now I want to sell my vehicle but only 2 years pass. How am I going to get this done?

You need to write the minister to request permission. Details about the procedure can be found on their website.
