ARA Drag & Wind #6 - 29th July 2012

Postby AutoSport » July 23rd, 2012, 7:03 pm

So at the eleventh hour ARA is being permitted to stage its 6th Drag and Wind Event at the ARC Car Park on Sunday 29th July. Amen.

Why was there apprehension by the ARC? Because of one unrestricted car - read silencer - on 24th May.

And this, coincidental to the ARC having its AGM on the same day, where members were present in their Club House, and were disturbed by the noise coming from the Car Park – this was not second-hand information, but what they actually experienced.

Since then the TT Karting Assoc. President was informed about this concern, and then ARA was called in, since the noise was being created by cars at our Event, not Karts.

We are granted permission for this event, on condition that ARC members will be attending our Event on Sunday, after which they will make recommendations to their Management. So let us all cooperate to pull off a great event and demonstrate our sportsmanship and desire to work in harmony with everyone.

We, ARA Management, will therefore decide if your car is too loud and if so, YOU ARE OUT - No contest!!!

So, let us all be considerate to ensure that we can keep this facility for all of our future Events, and Karting and CARS!

So we move on, Briefing will be on Wednesday as usual at MOSPORTT at 7:00pm. Prizes distributed for preceding two Events.

And we do have another interesting Event to announce….
A Box Kart Race, the final event of Arima Fest, being staged by the Borough of Arima, under the patronage of His Worship, the Mayor of Arima.

Date - Sunday 2nd September at Arima – build your Kart out of wood, no original chassis from toys or Karts or whatever – this must be home-made!

More on Wednesday night.

If you just wanna have fun and don't care about place etc...why not....on a competitive note I don't think it will put up much of a resistance in even the lowest class.

quite a few stock cars in it's class, that do well. a lot of weight on your driving.

Yea I did....but this aint solodex...with that straight away there is little the driver can do when a b16a honda puttin it on you coming and going. And there IS a b16a that wins that 1B class every event I have been to.

wow.
thankfully, even though others realize there is only one first place per class, the classes still attract more than one competitor.

As soon as I try to upload Devi's pic, I am getting thrown back to the login section. Would do an exorcism on that pic and try again later.

Yep, we know the devil busy all around, but with some good prayers we all will get over every hurdle.

And great to see the ARA family camradarie all around.

Thanks for holding the fort with the pics.

Welcome Tuner Imports as our latest sponsor with Monster lined up to come on board from next Event, and hopefully we can bring back the cash prizes for fastest in class.

Chris when i see you Sunday I’ll push that ignis over

Not eying the 1-3 prizes as my skills have drop right down to 0.
When I say “wonder if a stock Tiida will do well” what I really meant was I wonder if anyone will build jokes on me lining up with my stock Tiida. Yup I know this is not dex (which I will be attending again).
Couldn’t make it to mosport on Wednesday so I think I will come and observe and see what the competition is like.
Then we will know how to approach.......
Kevin you will be there? I know Karl will as it will have...........gets run over by a stag truck...

run the car, had a time a b14 came and make reallll men feel sick hahahah. all for the fun meng.

btw, please dont flame but any word on if the "noise restrictions" for the cars staying? or will it be dropped in time to come? i know the horses are affected but anything being put in place to go back to normal? or restrictions stays? was getting a sponsor for my car and with the recent mods, its a bit noisy now, will pass the limit i think.

If you had attended the Briefing meeting last night, you would realize that we are still not out of the woods, and NO, the restrictions will NOT be removed. As a mater of fact even those cars that were below our limit last event, we have asked them to work on making less noise.

On Sunday we will have some ARC members and horse owners in attendance to see what we are actually doing and report back to ARC.

Please work with us to maintain use of this location in the future.
