I got my sportage in sept 2012 and have done a lil over 5000kms since.
Its the 2.0 gas AWD, 17" factory rims/tyres.
I owned a 2010 cerato prior to this so I knew more or less what to expect from kia. After 5000kms, i am throughly impressed by the ride, power deliverability, handling, fuel economy and service from kia.
I choose the AWD with a 4wd mode since I think it would provide
better traction and control than the fwd. the diesel would be 1st choice but the price was over my budget,
I use super as the engine requires 91 ron and I consistenly get 200kms for 1/2 tank.
I kept the cerato for approx 40,000kms and did not have an issue with servicing and had no hesitation with returning with another kia.
Would I recommend the sportage??? HELL YEAH!!!!
PS: the stock tyres are kumho and they are very silent on the road. I have noticed that some sportages come with nexen and hanook.
If you are from north visit kia and ask for luke sheppard. He is one sales rep who know the product he sells and goes beyond to assist if needed.

I am assuming that your vehicle came straight from the showroom last week? if so, should you be revving your engine so hard at such at early stage?
Anyway, for my first 5000kms I tried to be a bit conservative on my driving style. I am approx 8000kms now and my avg speed on the hway is 120kms which gets me about 250kms from a 1/2 tank of super.
On a couple occasions I did excelerate to see how she would perform and I got 170kms comfortably and that was not flat out. Maybe you should give your ride some time to break in.

I am surprised how quickly the mileage have added up.
It was routine mtce from the firm.
I also checked the alignment & rotated the tyres.
All is well so far. My front disc pads has approx. 50% life left.
Really have no issues thus far.
