Good day I have a 2008 sportage diesel. I’m having an issue with the oil trap on the intake hose from the tappet pan letting oil into the turbo and well engine. Did anyone ever had this issue before ? Also I converted my turbo on my sportage to a slightly bigger yd turbo.

Waking up the thread a bit.

My turbo recently started to throw a little oil, so I was thinking about something similar, to install this so as to avoid downtime to remove, service and reinstall mine, but after the seller of the YD turbo told me $3,000 F/U, and then I'd still have some modifications to do, I'll take the 2 days downtime and spend $2,200 worst case scenario by Turbo Lab in Penal yes.

On another note, I need an axle. I'm already looking to import a wiper motor (new for approximately USD 85 to purchase, ship and clear as opposed to TTD 1,200 F/U), so should I just bring in the axle as well??

Yeah I went up to the Bamboo today for a part for another vehicle and I found the motor and linkages for $800, so I'll look for the axle as well. What are your thoughts on the turbo though??

Whats wrong with your axle? I would say take the turbo done and get the seals replaced. Buddy did it by turbo lab last week, cost him 1100tt. It was a Ranger turbo, i wonder why the kia turbo is more expensive, the 2200 is to replace the seals alone right?

Had to service my alternator last month which cost me 500 as opposed to 3k for a new one or 1800 for a foreign used

The suspension tech said it has a slight bend or something..I need another diagnosis though. Always something to frustrate you when you're trying to sell a vehicle  . As for the turbo, I spoke with Junior as well. The $1,100 is for best case scenario and the $2,200 is worst case scenario I believe. I was just trying to reduce downtime since it's a 4 day time frame; to remove and reinstall the turbo (2 days), drop it for Junior to do his thing (2 days). My shift is weird and my wife needs the other vehicle so I would have preferred plug and play but of course that comes at a cost.

Its the front CV axle right? difficult to see how it got bend. The repair price for the turbo is really good. The price of these vehicle dropped so badly its Unbelievable. I might just keep mines the lost is too much...and parts prices are pretty cheap so will hang on to mines.

Yeah, Trinidadians and 'resale value'. imagine people offering B14 money for an SUV. I used a Wynn's Injector Cleaner in the tank the other day and even with wifey doing short runs, right now the needle is between the 1/2 and 1/4 tank mark and we've made over 400 kms thus far, from full to the brim, which isn't bad for a 12-13 year old vehicle with A/C always on and city mileage as opposed to highway.

As for the axle, I really do need a second opinion on that and I might just rent a car for the few days the vehicle is down while the turbo is being serviced.

Also, is there some WhatsApp group or club or something for these Korean vehicles? More than one place to share expertise, ask questions and recommend parts places/mechanics/etc. in real-time is always a good idea, imho.

Anyone ever used the “WYNNS DIESEL ANTI-KNOCK”?

I would stay away from using thick products, it only hides the problem. If its not making knocking sound donot add anything. but no never used it.

400km in traffic is really good for these engines. I like the sound of the whatsapp group, you should start it. Or even a facebook thing. What oil filters you all using?

I usually get 500/600kms on 3/4 tank and that's without traffic highway driving and a/c blasting. 07 diesel 4wd. I agree with a WhatsApp group because personally I'm finding alot of mechanics don't even want to touch the engine only do suspension work.

I'm looking for a 19" rim like the 1 pictured to use as a spare. And I have the 4 16" I took off my van.
