It was supposed to be 70 in total. 68 were rescued by the gov't (and sent their thanks via a Ramesh complaint / pre-action protocol letter).

The other two came a different way and have now tested positive.

It was 70 something low who went on the cruise. 68 came back as a group.
The rest buss away and come back themselves. 2 get quarantined on return to Trinidad last week or so, 1 get pick up the other day. I think those 2 today. All those bussaway Trinis all conformed cases.

The unfortunate thing is that even though there are mechanisms to determine those who are entering the country such as flight manifests, airline bookings, entry records via immigration etc., it appears that people still slipping through the cracks and God knows whether they isolate themselves.

I genuinely hope that the cruise was worth it and that they eat, drink, dance, gamble and fornicate to their hearts' content. Frankly, I hope they enjoyed that cruise for all 1.4 million citizens of Trinidad cause they really effing up the place now.

Honestly don't blame them too much, like I've been saying unless there was an outbreak in the Western world we were generally safe.

The sudden increase in cases in the West caught almost everyone by surprise, many people had already booked and were unsure, it's easy to criticize in retrospect but we would never have been safe period, hope everyone understands that.

Once it's here it's here and international arrivals were always going to bring it. Hence why I stand firm in saying Carnival was a none issue because once the borders were open it was inevitable.

People are looking to unfairly blame Carnival visitors who are honestly small in number, 34k came for Carnival over 1.5 weeks.

20k came last week, Carnival was not the problem.

If after March 1st you chose to travel, that wasn't wise. But at the same time, borders were open, there are so many asymptomatic cases, it was inevitable it'd show up here. It's literally everywhere on the planet right now.

Right now, you can blame them partially. But the most irresponsible people right now are the people not practicing social distancing or any sort of hygienic practices.

Blame those pastors who insist on holding mass still, blame those bosses and managers who insist on employees coming to work, blame the opposition for trying to get bars an ease up.

People were coming in from New York all the way up till Sunday gone.

The people on the CAL flights from JFK need to be monitored very closely. Something like one in three tests in New York are coming back positive.

at the very least, the Ministry should be calling people to check up on them. Particularly for people that came in from areas we now know have been in community spread for some time.

If it was me, I would call everybody that came in from JFK in the past few days and tell them the testing results coming out of that area. Having a level of accountability, even at a very basic level, helps stop the reckless behavior.
