Yes you are correct, pretty good move by apple and this should appeal to many people who want a phone for long term without splashing the big bucks due to the upgrade schedule. This phone would have you set for a 3-5 years.

huh? The first iPhone SE launched in 2016 helped Apple to increase market share
The SE has been a great selling phone for Apple as it fits in a market segment Apple did not cater to before.
The previous 2016 SE was based on the iPhone 5 chassis while this new 2020 SE is based on the iPhone 6 chassis.
Apple stock also took a positive jump between yesterday and today.

I bought my se in August 2016. Slapped on an otter box and a tempered screen protector. Using it right now to type this response and still in great condition.

I really liked the form factor of the 5 and 5S
but I think the new SE will suit a lot more people

So everyone keeps telling me u still using that baby phone? But even as someone who is really in tech and the latest in phones etc.,love the new features of all these flagships but just couldn’t justify upgrading when my phone is working perfect. I do almost everything on my phone and my practically New laptop only is pulled out these days to do zoom meetings. Plus still looking good as I tend to take care of my stuff.

July/ August would make my se four years old. I’d say pretty good value for the price. This new one especially in these difficult times will sell like hot bread.

I current have android... Huawei P30 Pro but I had the original iPhone then the iPhone ☓, its more or less what tickle my fancy when I'm looking to upgrade.

If the 12 Pro max come with more than 5000 battery and optical zoom at least 3x but perfect will be 5 x optical... I mite look to upgrade to that

OG SE users, how is the battery life on your phone? I always loved the design but battery size was my main concern.

I charge every 1.5-2 days with moderate-heavy use can last alot longer if you receive only a few calls or don't actively use data and online apps and probably alot less if you game.

Apple iPhone at risk of hacking through email app

A flaw in Apple's mobile operating system may have left millions of iPhone and iPad users vulnerable to hackers.

Research published by ZecOps, a mobile security firm, said a bug in the Mail app made devices susceptible to sophisticated attacks.

The firm said it had "high confidence" the bug has been used to exploited at least six high-profile victims.

An Apple spokesperson told Reuters a fix would be included in upcoming software updates.

ZecOps reported the bug to Apple in March. The tech giant had not previously known about the issue.

To exploit this flaw, hackers would send a seemingly blank message to an iPhone or iPad users Mail account - the email app on iOS devices. When the email was opened it would crash the app forcing the user to reboot. During the reboot, hackers would be able to access information on the device.

Apple products are typically considered to be more secure than other mobile devices. Experts say this shows how difficult it can be to spot underlying vulnerabilities.

1. Had to swap SIMs recently, now back to my original bmobile SIM, but every time I plug in the iPhone to charge I get an iTunes message to update the carrier settings, which I check every time but it still comes up. Anyone know of a solution to stop that?

2. Also I’ve observed that bmobile changed their voicemail service, again, and trying to figure out how to delete voicemails.

bmobile’s answer to someone who had the same question was:

“the functionality is different on different phones. Please check your user manual for instructions. Thanks”

I think they misinterpreted the question but anyway, anyone knows how to delete voicemails?

Thanks.

Anyone?

The carrier settings happened frequently when I was using a 5s. It eventually stopped on its own.
I have also have voicemail thank refuses to go away. It don’t let it trouble me, the other functions work so I’m ok with that

FaceID and a mask

Apple is launching an iPhone update that will make it much easier to unlock your phone while wearing a face mask

Apple's next iPhone update is making it easier to quickly unlock your phone at times when Face ID may not work.

When iOS 13.5 launches, you'll be able to swipe up from the bottom of the home screen to quickly access the passcode field.

The update comes after iPhone owner have pointed out that Face ID doesn't usually work while wearing a protective face masks.

Apple's update also introduces the first version of the tools that public health authorities will need to provide COVID-19 exposure notifications as part of Apple and Google's contact tracing system.

lol 4 caster wheels for $700 USD. And people will buy it! Just like how the $1000 monitor stand is being bought. So hilarious. Sounding like "value for money."

4 wheels costing more than some brand new iPhones on the same Apple website.

Linus breaks it down. It's "luxury" advertising and Apple is consumer trolling. In the end it won't change the minds of neither current loyal Apple users (Apple is good) nor non-Apple users (Apple is ridiculous).

MBP 13 is 2200.
i7/16G mem/1TB

Similar spec last week was 2600, and that's with an older i7.

uBreakiFix, Direct Point, iRepair Trincity etc
Most places won't stock iPad screens so they will have to order it for you and then do the repairs

The iPhone 12 that’s due this fall could be one of the last iPhone generations to feature ports of any kind. A new report says the iPhone 12 will not make the switch to USB-C, as some people might hope. Apple is sticking with Lightning for at least one more year, as one of next year’s iPhone 13 models could ditch the Lightning connector as well.

I believe that Apple is sticking to the idea that if they use USB-C then they are no longer unique in the consumer's eyes, especially when there are phone and laptops of high quality and better specs out there for cheaper. So rather than conforming to the new and improved standard, they will prefer to go wireless charging... which will lead to devices generating much more heat that already have bad cooling design. Will likely lead to even more users' devices burning out prematurely.

On the other hand, they'll be the ones to start working tech on the wireless solutions and better battery... oh wait Samsung R&D does that.
