May have a November event for that (and the Apple Silicon Macs) or quietly release it later today.

The iPhone 12 is a big deal with the Apple A-14 processor. 5-nm (11.8 billion transistors) lithography chips. It's a leap because 7-nm (Apple A-13) was a limit for a few years due to the Quantum Tunneling effect. 7-nm (8.5 billions transistors) was not too long ago thought to be the limit of transistors and The End of Moore's Law.

It's a next step in processing power and technology to manufacture and use these chips in devices. Making way for real mobile 5G processing requirements in everyday communication and connectivity. Samsung will obviously follow with their next flagship phone, btw it was Samsung R&D that developed the process technology to make the 5nm chip, and they're working on the 3nm chip right now. Apple just buys the 5-nm chip from TSMC.

Something wrong here, why is iWorld paying US 7% Sales Tax and Online Purchase Tax? A legit Apple reseller would buy wholesale from a regional distributer so they do not have to pay US Sales Tax and any commercial shipment vis air cargo is not subjected to OPT. These prices are no different from someone buying from a retail outlet in FL and shipping via a Skybox. I wonder if iWorld is still a legit Apple Reseller.

Part of the answer is in your question. AppleWorld posted it and you’re asking about iWorld

NB the $799 price (in this example for the iPhone 12) is for the phone on a US carrier. It’s actually $829 SIM free.

Seriously misread. Never heard of AppleWorld and assumed Duane would be posting prices from a legit Apple reseller.

Apple-designed processors are system on a chip (SoC) and system in a package (SiP) processors designed by Apple Inc. mainly using the ARM architecture. They are the basis of Apple's iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch platforms, and of products such as the HomePod, iPod touch, and Apple TV. Apple also designs a SoC called the Apple H1 for its AirPods line of wireless headphones. On June 22, 2020, at WWDC 2020, Apple announced plans to transition its Macintosh computers from Intel processors to as yet unannounced, ARM-based, Apple-designed processors.[1][2]

Although Apple outsources all of its manufacturing, including that of its own SoCs, it designs the processors and fully controls their integration across the company's hardware and software. Johny Srouji is the executive in charge of Apple's silicon design.[3]

I also bought a 6S when it came out to upgrade my 4S simply because the screen was getting way too small for my aging eyesight.

Then i upgraded my 6S last year to an 11 pro max because the battery in the 6S started dying (and also because the bigger screen helps with my eyesight, albeit with some difficulty in handling with one hand).

So for me roughly every 4 years. And if my current phone lasts longer (hopefully) maybe even more than 4 years because I think anything bigger now will be too difficult for me to hold with 1 hand.

gov removing tax on cellphones in december so that tax sheet go get old real fast. when B&H and Amazon start selling them, you won't have to pay sales tax if you are with certain skybox providers.

apple being a bit misleading with those prices - you only get access to them if you go with verizon or att, else it is +30. the basic usb-c power brick and earpods are going for $19 each so +$38 if you want them.

I think now is good time to upgrade for 6s users I am also 6s user and this phone really gave me good return . From iOS 9 to 14 I can’t complain , well apart from battery degrading. After watching 12 is really new game .

I enjoyed taking photos and sharing so the camera is going be plus for my choice on this . Especially in low light.

Some experts say the new features give Apple its best opportunity for growth since 2014, when it revamped its line-up with the iPhone 6.

"5G will bring a new level of performance for downloads and uploads, higher quality video streaming, more responsive gaming, real-time interactivity and so much more," said chief executive Tim Cook.

However, for the first time none of the devices will be bundled with headphones or a charger. Apple said the move was to help reduce its impact on the environment.

"Tim Cook [has] the stage set for a super-cycle 5G product release," commented Dan Ives, an analyst at Wedbush Securities.

He added that about 40% of the 950 million iPhones in use had not been upgraded in at least three-and-a-half years, presenting a "once-in-a-decade" opportunity.

It makes sense to wait till the taxes shift.
I still have a 6 Plus and I want to upgrade to the 12.
Definitely time to upgrade.

Apple has bought iPhones from U.S. Apple store online and shipped to skybox successfully?
