anyone knows if its a wet clutch or a dry clutch?
From the little info I have on this car, it may be the dq200…so do I sense that you’re in replacement mode?
I need an SUV now ... Need the trunk space and ground clearance.
Options so far are the CRV, Rav4
Corolla cross and the Foreign new Vezel are options on the table.
The BMW x1 is an attractive option as well but not sure if I wanna go euro again.
Trying to convince a friend not to buy a A3 if it has a dry clutch tranny.
Scene, in that case the new CRV it is. I know you got spoilt with that turbo over the years!

The Vitara too small for me so won't go in that direction.
the Tiguan we get here is a 1.5T or a 2.0T?
Never wanted a Mercedes don't like their ethos.
Forester was appealing but the price massy is charging is crazyness.
If we get the Hybrid Tucson ... I might consider this.

You talking bout the Oil drinking issue or the timing chain tensioner?
Or both?
A car is always better.... maintainence is always higher for an suv...tyres etc. How about a wagon?drchaos wrote:Thanks for the info

The XV price is great but the cargo space is terrible. Me thinks my civic has more trunk capacity.
My trunk used to always be empty unless I needed to transport something. Now half of it is always taken up with stuff my wife claims "we might need"
So yeah that extra trunk/cargo space would be a blessing

Not really a review but here goes... I was tracking this vehicle for almost a year now. Keeping in touch with the sales rep who assured me that the signature X-Terrain model would be in the first shipment.
After waiting, finally it arrived. He never told me it came and I had to approach him. Of course the X Terrain model did not come. He then informs me that they would never be getting the X-Terrain DMAX.
He did send info on the model they get as the highest trim. It is like 3 grades down from the X Terrain. There are no cosmetic trims, no fender flares, front garnish or Roll bar. There is also no driver assistance features whatsoever. In fact they left the RHS of the steering wheel controls blank. So no adaptive cruise control, no atonymous breaking, no Blind spot assistance etc.
They only got 3 of the highest trim white, silver and grey. The signature orange and blue is supposed to be for the X Terrain model only.
Pretty disappointed in the local dealership. It seems they brought a mid spec as their high spec and have the BT50 as the high end van. That too did not come with any of the safety features but adds a DVD player (yeah 2005 thing), a dimming rear view mirror and basic cruise control so at least the steering wheel does not look as though something missing.
The Navara Pro 4X is a nice looking van though but the interior is hedious. And that has no driver assistance features either for a whooping 40k more.
Seems as though the only hope left is the foreign used (new) grey markey dealers... maybe they can bring a real fully loaded pickup to our shores.

Both of the S-line models come with full S-line interior.
At licensing in POS, I'm sitting outside looking at the registration bay area and someone from massy just sped in with one of the mg HS from the highway side and make one tire squealing spin into the registration bay, had d plates so I guess someone bought it, but geez, why these people in dealerships and service areas must drive other people's cars so hard? They do that in lifestyle also, ud swear it's a race.agent007 wrote:I received unconfirmed information that suggests the MG's (at least some of them) uses a Getrag/MAGNA sourced dry dual-clutch transmission which is similar to the Ford Powershift DCT (and we know how this turned out to be a massive failure for Ford and partly why they are, like VW, are almost dead brands locally).
So it is on this note, to all those dual-clutch owners out there, especially those who have clutches that don't touch transmission fluid (yes like some of you Tucson turbo owners), I salute you and I wish you all the very best!
