new millipede discovered in TT - Pandirodesmus jaggernauthi

Postby snatman » March 11th, 2022, 9:22 am

At last night's meeting Mike Rutherford made a very special surprise announcement. Not only has he discovered and described a new species of millipede that is endemic to Trinidad, but he has chosen to name it 'Pandirodesmus jaggernauthi' in honour of Dan Jaggernauth's services to Trinidad & Tobago's natural environment. We are very proud of Dan!

Dan get immortalized there. Real cool fella.

When a bushman knows more than the scientists, he deserves that.

Last trip I made with him was with a team from california that was studying Megatherium, giant sloths and fossil remains in local asphalt seeps. Dan is a national treasure himself, guy knows about nearly anything you can spy in nature, from a random bush to any insect.

Nice. If I spotted that, would have wrote that off as some variant of a centipede. Well done Dan.
