People still wondering why India so pro Israel...that's just India. You can't begin to talk about the conquest in the Levant and the eventual elimination of Jewish communities in established Muslim nations. So I must correct you on something here. Masjid al Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock are 2 separate entities as seen in the picture attached.

Secondly, Al Aqsa is the 3 most holiest place in Islam, the two preceeding being Mecca and Medinah. Therefore Al Aqsa has a certain level of closeness to Muslims.

Lastly, Jerusalem is mention in the quraan, together with Jesus (Isa) as a prophet. It is mentioned that Jerusalem was the location that prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) visited before ascending to the heavens. There are a number of stories/lessons pertaining to Islam that occurred at this time.

But most people think that the Dome of the Rock is Al Aqsa. I was fortunate to visit both the Dome and Al Aqsa and I got a little bit of the history.

Just something to educate myself and all of us who weren't aware.

Look up BBC news and Various UN reports over the years. Even American not happy when one of their Journalists got murdered some time ago. The reports are all out there. Last week 15 Palestinians were murdered in the west bank.
