if at the end of the second leg, both teams are even on aggregate, for eg if pool beats chelsea 2-0 (thus the overall aggregate is 3-3) then chelsea will automatically go through becuase they scored more goals away (3 at anfield as opposed to pool scoring 2 at stamford bridge)...if the match finishes 3-1, then they will go into extra time and if necessary penalties...if it finishes 4-2, then pool will go thru as they have had more away...
