beautiful barca? restricted to long range shots and disgraceful whinging (alves)

those who criticize chelsea's performance have a lot to learn about football. they had a game plan and they executed it to perfection, i must say. remember last year semi finals, barca 0-0 man utd with barca having something like 70% possession without creating any clear cut chances. hiddink has used that performance as a template and it worked.

barca did have one good opportunity though but it was wasted by bojan. what is he like 12 years old? he so small noone picked him up

second leg will hopefully be a more open, exciting game. looking forward.

Even though Chelsea played an extremely cynical match, they stuck to their game plan beautifully. The good thing is that they will be forced to play ball in the second leg and should open themselves up. No one can say with any degree of certainty who will be the favourite..but visca barca.

Bingo...and we all know what happened in the second leg even though Utd had but one fit striker...
Utd were more open and didn't defend as much as Chelsea did today, but to be fair Barca are better this year...In the first leg last season, Rooney was put on the right to help out Brown, and Ronaldo played as a lone striker up front...the game was fairly even and boring...
Chelsea used last year as a template and Hiddink executed it to perfection...which is what i've been saying all along, Chelsea have the experience to dig in and do what they need...do NOT rule them out...

Barca find themselves in an interesting position though...similar to Utd last year...they've played the first leg and drawn 0-0...now they hafta go and fight for their domestic title as Utd did last year vs Chelsea in between...two good games in the making this! 8-)

do NOT rule them out

Glad to see some level headedness...I absolutely love Barca ..but I thought the guys on ESPN Press Pass went crazy in their predicitons..Shaka Hislop say 3-1 Barca! That was never going to happen tonite..this tie still on a knife edge, ppl who watch these two teams EVERY WEEK in their RESPECTIVE LEAGUES will understand this very well.

chelsea has to push men foward in the next game, with barca's pace up front it will surely cause probs for chelsea as they wont have a 9 man defense   and barca should easily put 1 or 2 in the nets

but then again its sports eh..anything could happen on the day

whats allyuh torts on the game later?
