You know all them politician talking about doing this and that but never something such as this. For those of you that could help out a situation such as this but refuse to, then shame on you, it will come back to haunt you.
I picked up stray dogs and brought them up. They were very faithful and all they want is just a mouthful of food and they are happy....food or not.
I cannot take any as I have 13 already and I don't even have space for those 13. Shame on the rest of you though. This topic needs to be addressed on a higher forum than just a bumped thread on trinituner.
Mods at least you all could sticky this.
Feeding the dogs should just be a temporary solution though. I'll do my part in spreading the word though.

May I suggest caging all of them, cover the cage, run a line from your vehicle exhaust and gas them to death. It is a painless excercise that is done on pest-like birds to control the population at field stations producing food crops (or at least so I've read). It is a cold-hearted thing to do but it is a harsh world we live in. End the suffering.

as long as they are not starving 90% of the time and being fed the other 10% ...
because that would be torture.

okay okay. sheesh! What I should have said was that feeding them is a short term means of assistance to the dogs.

So then what about long term?
Spaying and Nutering is the best approach IMHO but it is easier said than done. So......................

brakefluid,

This is being done, TTSPCA came down and took about 10 dogs some weeks ago to get them adopted.

As i said a few times on this thread, we are working to this, however we need to keep the dogs ALIVE for the time being so we can actually get them off the streets.

PS. We have pups for adoption, will post pics later.
Need shots and a loving home. :)

Hey Guys,

THE TTSPCA / PEDIGREE WHISKAS ADOPTION DRIVE is on SATURDAY JUNE 27th. 2009, At the TTSPCA Compound, Mucarapo Road, St. James, from 9.30 AM TO 3.30 PM.

At the moment, they are requesting for Volunteers to do Home Checks in different areas on 27th. for the Adoption Drive. Any help and/or donations for the Animals would be greatly appreciated.

Please remember that TTSPCA whilst dedicated to the promotion and the welfare of animals in Trinidad & Tobago, is an NGO (non Government Organization), which means that it gets ZERO financial support from the government and depends on the generosity of the public to help these animals.

Please call Yasmin Ali on 622-1367 or 628-1615 for any further information or to volunteer your services!

Also, you can see first hand what animals are available through the Charity Section of TriniTrader.net, where all their pictures up..

brakefluid,

got ur PM.

I'm pleased to announce that a gentleman by the name of Mr. Joseph Oliveire along with CIL Ltd donated twenty (20) 50lb bags of dog chow yesterday.

Special thanks to him and everyone else from tuner who has donated, especially Damien, who makes time nearly everyday to feed the dogs.

Thanks a lot to all,
