which line are you looking at ? I had the hybrid ovation 6 inch components but never ran them passively. actively they were brilliant. The tweeter can be crossed fairly lower than most other comp sets and all morel lines have awesome power handling capability. As with any setup install is key. in a properly deadned door with a proper sturdy decoupled baffle you can expect alot of midbass.

If money is not a problem the elate line is extremely hard to beat.

morel has been around since 1974, this says alot in a world of fly by night brands who rely on marketing and don't even survive months.

Locally, several of the cars that used morel won top places in local sq competitions.
national sq finals 2010 rookie first place used a morel sub
rookie of the year 2010 used morel components and morel sub
national sq pro 2010 used morel components
national sq pro 2009 also used morel components.

But besides these things the best way to know is to actually listen to them yourself and form your own opinion. Where are you located i can arrange for you to get a demo.

i use morel the morel elate 3way and used it in competition in the US an took first in every show i entered..also those elates also do get pretty loud 2 8-)

and once u dampen your doors and do your doors properly for sq you would get really nice amounts of midbass from them

the 3" for the 3way set is very easy to install an place as no enclosure is required

and honestly before you think about buying from the US and bringing it in dont even bother..Trinidad is wayyyy cheaper

There is a couple of vehicles in Trinidad which uses Morels. As Jeff said, get some demos of the Morel as well as some other brands for comparison purposes and judge for yourself. (My medicine may be your poison). They do have the potential for a great system. As with any brands, it is all about the application, install and tuning which makes the difference.

For me, it is the techincal support you get outside of just purchasing a set which makes the difference.

I have a 3 way front plus sub (all morel) installed and am pleased with how it sounds - with the potential to sound better.

i live in the US when i called the local morel dealer i considered it ..i checked online and they were priced better but without warranty etc.. so i called up edhardy and got better prices than the US

plus as gvt said they would give really nice tech support with it as well when u buy the morels..

depends on your budget but there are loads of options out there.. alpine h701 processor, pionerr p99
audison bit.one.. rockford 360..zapco has another dsp.. alpine is releasing a new processor in a few months the h800

i personally use the h701 processor and it does basically everything i want it to do

If you're new to tuning a system with a processor with that much functionality I would suggest the JBL MS8.
