MELISSA Bisnath, the wife of a car salesman, was abducted from her home early yesterday.
Up to late yesterday, she had not yet been found.
Police were told that at around 5.15 a.m., Bisnath and her husband Roland Jitta, arrived home and as they entered their apartment at Palmyra Village, near San Fernando, they were confronted by two men wearing bandanas across their faces.
One man was armed with a gun.
The men robbed the couple of $800 and took Jitta's bank card and personal identification number (PIN).
Police were told that the thieves took Bisnath with them as a guarantee that the PIN was correct.
She was abducted and taken away in Jitta's Nissan Sunny car. The car has also not been found.

Kidnapped woman released

MELISSA Bisnath, who was abducted during a robbery at the family home in Palmyra near San Fernando on Saturday, has been released unharmed.

Bisnath, the wife of car salesman Roland Jitta, was freed ten hours after she was taken.

Speaking at her home yesterday, Bisnath said she was grateful to be alive and she was not abused while being held.

Bisnath, 21, said when she and her husband returned home from a night out between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Saturday, they found the men waiting for them inside the house.

The suspects were wearing bandanas across their faces and one man was armed with a gun.

They ordered Bisnath to lie in the hall and one of the men took Jitta, 45, into the bedroom, tied him up and demanded money, his bank card and personal identification number (PIN). Police were told the thieves took Bisnath with them as a guarantee that the PIN was correct.

Bisnath said she was blindfolded and forced into Jitta's Nissan Sunny car which the men escaped in. The car had still not been found up to yesterday.

Bisnath said she fell asleep while still in the car, and at around 4 p.m. she was awakened by the men who threw her out "walking distance" from her home.

She was still blindfolded when released.

Bisnath said the couple were robbed a month ago of $20,000 in cash in Chaguanas.

Bisnath, who moved to Palmyra three months ago, said, "I cannot eat, I am feeling uncomfortable here and we are going to be moving out."

Jitta, who also provides financing for his customers, said, "I don't know if they were marking me. I was afraid that they were going to kill me that night."

The couple's cellphones were also stolen and they are unsure if any money is missing from the bank.

The victims intend visiting the bank today.

She fell asleep in the car within 10 hours of being kidnapped? If is one scenario you might think people (especially a woman in a car with a couple kidnappers) would not fall asleep so soon, even after liming all night is this one.
