Help Almera Transmission

Postby Black_Primera » July 13th, 2013, 7:44 am

Yesterday morning when i shifted to drive, the gear did not engage. Reverse worked initially and then that too stopped working too. I had to keep shifting through the gears until it worked on 1 then drive began working also. It worked after about 30 secs. For the rest of the day, it seemed fine to me. This morning a similar thing happened but i pulled it down to 1 immediately and then drive worked so the problem lasted about 5 secs. I overheated about a month aback but i changed the tranny fluid the next day. I used the oil for electronic trannys (i was advised). Oil seems clean enough and up to level. BTW its a local big light almera. Any help diagnosing will be welcomed. Also what is the correct tranny fluid for these cars? I used the normal castrol before, for over a year and everyting seemed ok to me.....

sounds like the transmission gone, time to rebuild or replace.
