Mines tuned ECU....

Postby air wick » June 18th, 2014, 9:54 am

Anyone locally ever used a Mines tuned ecu with Premium gas?

Need some feedback as to how the car performed with the 95 octane.

i had a mines sr20ve ecu on a primera..
was honest not much of a difference from the stock ecu.. except higher rev limiter and no speed cut..car accelerated a little quicker
never used on super.. only premium.
i believe mines ecu's use a much higher octane rating
as in japan the gas is of wayyyy better quality than locally..
i think if throw some toulene in yr tank, u will see a huge difference in performance and thats when the ecu will start to show its real potential

Werd, i was thinking of going with a piggyback but now a chipped ecu would be the best bet.

Paparazzi.....Do you have the option to get mapping done using 95ron instead of their standard 100ron?

Hey I wasnt online for a bit. Would u need the chassis number of my car? (Altezza sxe10 0001058) or the car the engine came in?( aristo.. which I cant get) Cuz its a bamboo 2jzgte vvti I bought and swapped in.
Engine # 89661-3a470
bar code # 1752000684
175200 0684 12v
Big single turbo
Front intercooler
3'' down pipe and full 3" exhaust
Hopeful custom tune:
For larger injectors
About 2bars or above boost
Lookin for 450-500whp
Note that I didnt dyno the car wit the mines I borrowed but I ran 12.4@15psi so am sure I was near the 400whp range or so.........
If u can arrange I wud be glad to do business and I have list of friends also interested if u offer further service

Wud appreciate a qoute also if we proceed

What size injector what intake diameter? They won't know if they can scale properly without knowing injector size and intake diameter

Stock intake manifold
Intercooler piping 2.5inch
turbo intake diameter 3.5 inch.
Aftermarket airflow meter.
Around 700cc injectors or so jus( injectors stock at the moment so would facilitate accordingly) enough to sustain safe 450- 500whp.

You need to know your final set up down to a "T" before you can even come close to getting an acceptable tune, so you cant give info like 'big single turbo', 'aftermarket afm', and 'around 700cc inj' it just doesnt work that way.
Also as far as I know 95% of mines ecus are tuned using more or less the stock platform meaning they just focus on stuff like a boost up of the stock turbos and a bump in ign and fueling to get more performance and also deleting speed cut and boost cut, so anything else will just be guess work!
This is one of the major down falls of tuning the 2jzgte VVTI if using the stock tranny as the only two capable are the hks vpro or motec m800 and even if you switch to manual you still need an ecu capable of controlling the vvti and drive by wire, which adds just a few again.....That why all the big power 2js are old model, not vvti!
Oh and dont forget....if you not sending your ecu to Japland to be remapped you will have to pay for one plus the cost of that awesome gold plaque which at a guess will be more than you paid for the engine and aftermarket parts you have so far...

I agree with ball joint, you need to know you exact setup if you intend to go the way do.

I don't think the Mine's route might be the best way to go for your setup. Best you do a custom Dyno tune locally

Yea I figured so but since the mines I borrowed showed to be good for 12.4 sec at a reasonable 15psi I opted for one and since paparazzi claims he can get custom tune mines daz y I inquired. After all am not a drag queen I jus enjoyed the way the car responded wit the mines ecu but good info non the less and I kno stand alone is best even a decent piggy back wud get me there I jus dont like da hastle of dyno and tuning. . Jus plug n play. Newayz thnks

Mines will do a custom bench tune based on a reasonable list of bolt ons. But you have an aftermarket flow metre and don't know the cc of the injectors so it would be hard to do an accurate bench tune without a clear set of specs.

Injectors are stock .... I understand for a safe 400plus whp an upgrade from the 440 cc is necessary. So I gave an option for upgrade injectors.its ok though
