Voice/data coming soon.

WiMAX already switched off in Port of Spain and users are being migrated to LTE.

they are still provisioning all the towers around the country. Tobago is mostly done and Port of Spain is done. They will continue with provisioning the remaining sites and then roll out mobile soon.

The lower left corner says "www.blink.com" - that's not their website. It's just an observation.

i have a blink on the go wimax usb dongle. i got a letter from TSTT saying to come in to get a replacement device (4G LTE device) so i'm guessing it's activated in my area?

anyone know what are the new speeds and are the prices different?

asking because if its isn't then the device uses the HSPA network which is capped at 5GB in which case i would go over the limit and get charged much more - my family watches a lot of netflix and youtube so that would amount to a lot more than 5GB

Mobile phones are the more common devices. Why would they do this for their 14 WiMax customers nationwide first instead of making the majority happy first. ugh bmobile is so annoying. Watch Digicel get a wind of this and get LTE to their customers mobile handsets first.

If we cap LTE the same as we cap HSPA we not benefiting fully from an upgrade.

I sure that already on the way, just Digicel will say:

"Good day, Thank you for choosing Digicel, we have upgraded our network to now provide you with LTE nationwide. If you do not have a data plan at current please see attached. Thank you for choosing Digicel"

LTE will have to coexist with HSPA for some time until most people's phones support it.

USB Dongle

WiFi Hotspot

edit:

working good so far. 3 out of 5 bars (signal) in Curepe area.

web browsing experience is much better compared to the WiMAX. latency to florida is ~50-100ms

WiMAX latency was ~150-300ms

currently running on 1Mbps up and down

will do some testing / digging 2mrw

yeh. it sucks but they are just 'free' test devices.....if the company decides to keep a few then i guess different rates will apply.

is it actually running on 4G or 3G? if LTE isn't activated then it will likely run on 3G which is why the speeds might be slow- also HSPA IS CAPPED AT 5GB according to blink website so that might mean u get charged for data in excess

To the people that have gotten letters from TSTT or spoken to reps about your WiMax modem being replaced with LTE devices, what locations are you all in? I have a WiMax router but received no such communication.
