Postby eurotuner » June 21st, 2016, 4:29 pm

Its a Kia rio and the seatbelt is stuck.

Locked in the seat post, meaning that you can't pull it down, or in the seat belt buckle?

Yes. As in the mechanism is not allowing it to move. So I'm guessing that broke

Drive to fire station, they should have tools to cut seat belt.

It simpler than that, just tell me if the warning light came on and if it's stuck fully closed, meaning it's taut or very tight.

Is the car on a level surface?

It would still work even if the car is not level. There is a balance mechanism with a ball to compensate for that. If it is pulled real tight in the recoiled position, just unbolt the top bolt and release the tension. It should work properly if it does not pm me.

It doesn't have to be the pretensioner, once it is not deployed ,It could be the mechanism stuck. This is why I asked if the light came on. If the light is not on then it's a simple fix.............if you know what you doing.
