And Central and South!

But this must be done over a whole week relentlessly in every so called hot-spot.

So all the vehicles park up in the middle.....rather than forming a perimeter. This has nothing to do with Law enforcement.

There were dogs......and the area was sealed off. Those carparks only have one way in and out.

My thoughts exactly.

Who cares about the car park. Everybody knows that a criminal's preferred route of action in a situation like this is to jump out of a window and escape into some nearby bushes.

Crime crackdown in Maloney
...soldiers, cops swarm housing settlement

SOLDIERS and police officers conducted a joint raid at Maloney on Friday.

Scores of police officers of various units of the Northern Police Division were part of the operation which began before daybreak.

They searched several homes at the Maloney Housing Complex as part of the exercise.

Many residents captured footage of the raid and have posted pictures and video of the exercise which was carried out for several hours.

Acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams said at a press conference on Wednesday that the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has identified that the majority of the murders where taking place in the Northern and Central Police Divisions.

Williams said that recent administrative changes were made aimed at tackling the number of homicides and other crimes occurring in the two divisions.

Eight detained in Maloney police raid

Police have detained eight men following a raid in Maloney this morning.

The men have been held in relation to several crimes, including recent murders.

The following is a statement from the Police Service.

"A joint police-army operation involving 200 officers was today carried out in the Maloney, D’Abadie area for persons wanted in connection with recent murders; and woundings and shootings, in the D’Abadie and Arima districts. It began at 4:00am and ended at 10:00am, Friday 18th November, 2016.

The exercise yielded the arrests of eight persons – four on outstanding warrants in relation to gun related offences while four suspects were held for questioning in connection with unsolved murders and other violent crimes.

The operation was spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.), McDonald Jacob and co-ordinated by Snr Supt. (Ag.) Garth Nelson of the Northern Division.

Officers from various task force and units were involved in the operation including Canine Unit, Guard and Emergency Branch and the Inter-Agency Task Force.

There was a heavy complement of soldiers from the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force."
