you might have to lower the bar on the jobs you are willing to work if you really want to get one. alot of fast food places hiring, usually subway hires more than the others. its not easy work but its money in your pocket atleast until something better comes along. its hard out here especially if you dont know people as well

join the facebook page ttjobseekers and you can also check caribbeanjobs and trinidadjobs for openings. its no guarantee but its an opportunity

Brad29, Sometimes sending out or mailing resumes may not be always a good strategy - all the time.

Go into a company you like - bold and brave . Do some research on the company first .

Ask to see the Manger and do a presentation. Tell them your strong points etc.

Then you can give the Manager your resume.

Good Luck !

Go to a stationary store and get the best quality, "weighted" paper you can buy and print out your resume on that. 25lb at least. 30lb+ ideal.

If you're printing on regular John Dickerson Copyrite paper you'll just look like one of the other couple of dozen resumes that land on their desk every week.

Stand out from the rest with a resume printed on paper you can feel is not just regular copy paper and your resume at least will get more attention.

Call the organisation and get the name of the HR Manager or a Department Head. Address it to them personally and hand deliver it if at all possible.

While not a lock, it'll guarantee you make it past the first round of resume perusal where often it's the HR Manager or Department Head's secretary or assistant that weeds out the non starters from the potentials.
