you can line up from 5:30am and wait..when the door opens, they will direct anyone without an appointment to a line where you will be processed. I did this at Chaguanas office a couple months back, and I was in and out in less than half hour (not counting the time I waited for the doors to open)
Takes about 6 weeks to get your passport. I was travelling for business and my employer issued a letter requesting expedited processing. I paid an additional $50 for the expedited processing and got the passport in 5 working days
To renew pops passport, I did the same thing..we pulled up early one morning, and waited for the doors to open. He joined the 'walk-in' line, and was in and out in under an hour. Got his passport in 6 weeks

Anybody has the updated passport renewal form to share? Apparently the one on the immigration website is not up to date.

Got an appointment , but then got a meetings scheduled in work to fly out that week .
Went to Sangre Grande with a letter stating I’d be out for the appointment , greeted with attitude from the front door all the way in . They said they consider it a walk in and will not be taking walk-ins although I have an appointment on two weeks . Went Chag office , was greeted with professionalism and courteous staff who helped me out . Got in at 10:30 and out at 1:30. Not bad considering I was at Sanger grande since 6:15Am.

Anyone know how you can confirm/call to know if one's passport is ready? It's been 6 weeks for me.

I was told last year you can't get that answer over the phone. You just have to come in periodically.
Six weeks is sufficient time to make a check though. Last year the issue date on mine was like 2 week from the appointment and 4 weeks thereafter is enough time for it to reach the respective office.

My family needs to renew their passports, got all there information together and went early to Sando office, place open, guard come out and ask for those that have appointment, let them in, those come to collect, let them in, then say they don't do walk-ins again, you all have to leave.

    Has the policy changed?
    Is that only in Sando?

Calling the number to make an appointment and no answer.

Is there a way to make an appointment online?

Man this thing really frustrating yes, just a few days ago to get new birth paper, took 5 hours, and it was ordered online.

Any info or recent expediences with be appreciated.

Yes. POS was accepting walk ins up to late June / early July. Was told by a lady in the line that ONLY POS doing walk ins in Trinidad. She also said that her relative chose to do it in Tobago as a walk in and got through. They also had a shorter wait time.

I reached POS at 6:20AM and I was the last person they were accepting as a walk in. They were only taking 15, until the staff advised them to take 2 more elderly people, so they came in after me. I was previously told that they were accepting 30 daily. I suspect that they started lowering the quota.

They took us in at 7AM and I got out between 9 and 10. The IO asked me if I needed it expedited so I said yes ($550 to get it in 2 weeks). When I went to take the picture the other IO did not tell me when to stay still and I blinked. But she did not say anything about the picture to me so I assumed it was okay.

Went back for it 2 weeks after and I look like I have a lazy eye. Will have to live with that for the next 10 years. This place rel mad.

Got through with a Walk-in at POS this morning . Walkins as seniors get first preference and if you could borrow someone’s toddler you are good to go. Went last week Monday but it had lots of rain so there were not sufficient staff so they cut down on walk ins. Today however I reached at 5 am compared to 6am the week before and I got through as like about the 6th person. Remember to have a photocopy of your passport with you in addition to the original passport and have the renewal form completely filled out from before .have an extra copy of the blank form just in case you make any errors and note that you can’t write over too much with any corrections especially the signature because that needs to be scanned
